I just received in the mail a copy of the 3rd edition of POPE PIUS XII AND WORLD WAR II: THE DOCUMENTED TRUTH : A Compilation of International Evidence Revealing the Wartime Acts of the Vatican. (UK link HERE)
Wow. Useful and compelling.
The compiler/editor is Gary L. Krupp. He is Jewish and has the distinction of having been knighted by John Paul II and then raised to the Order of St. Gregory by Benedict XVI. He is the founder of the Pave The Way Foundation.
The book aims to present evidence helpful for an accurate understanding of what Pius XII actually did. As such, it is part of his Foundation’s goal of removing obstacles and misinformation and foster true interreligious dialogue.
The book is a large format paperback.
Within, you find documentary evidence about Pius XII. Images of the documentary evidence are provided.
For example:
What Krupp has done is compile documents, testimonies, newspaper articles, eye-witness accounts, etc., which serve to “bring to light the true history of the Pontificate of Pope Pius XII and those who suffered under Nazi tyranny.”
Santo subito!
Also on Kindle, and although I am wary of the photos of clipped articles, I am curious to see (when a design company has been involved) whether the Kindle version has been produced with care. It’s also much less expensive….
But either way, this is a book which has been long overdue.
This HOLY POPE is LONG overdue to be Proclaimed a Saint…..every one should wise up and know that the propaganda about him not helping save our Jewish Brethren is all SOVIET lies…..
WE pray we will soon have a St. Pius XII in the Church.
Shiny!!!
The clipped articles are a must, it shows the author isn’t distorting the record. It will be difficult for the nay-sayers to argue that the book is slanted to a point of view and doesn’t represent the real record when the pages printed at the time of the events are included as is.
I have that book, and it’s so neat that the organization is made up of people of all faiths. .Great book.
I have the greatest respect and such sympathy for this much maligned great shepherd of our Church, much like how I feel for our great Emeritus Pope Benedict. Both hated by the MSM, and the liberal “Catholics”.
I have a copy of the first(?) edition, PDF form, from when Krupp’s website was giving them away for free. It’s super! It’s just jam-packed with important information, and in the original words and original language, as well as translations. I trust that the 3rd edition is even better.
Gonna have to put it in hubby’s book at for the first day of school.
I just bought the book for pennies for my Kindle.
I had the good fortune to hear Mr. Krupp at the commencement of my graduating class at St. Thomas Aquinas College in 2012. While it’s only nominally a Catholic school, I have to give them credit for having him speak. (Schumer spoke the next year, though…) Many copies of his work were distributed to graduates and family alike.
