   Great picture! The more I look at it, the more I reckon it doesn’t need a caption. It speaks (as does Papa Benny) for itself.

   Caption? Dunno.

   B16 seemed to me a shy, quiet man whose writings always had a tender sweetness about them. I think he really did not want to be pope. Supposedly he had asked JP2 more than once to let him retire. But he accepted the election when it came — and when have we ever seen such a change of temperament! The man who did not want to be pope obviously enjoys it now, in fact seems to get a great kick out of it! An exuberant, happy man whose writings always have a tender sweetness about them.
