“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Amen!
Amen.
Goodnight Father.
Nine full days left between now and the publication date. Seems that some sort of novena is in order. Any ideas Father on how we can prepare worthily??
Father Z,
July 7th is my birthday. Should this actually be the date of the much anticipated derestriction of the classical latin mass, perhaps you would release a podcazt with you singing Te Deum. I have been searching the net for one, but the only version of Te Deum sung with the proper vigor comes to a screaching end when the fool impales his foot on a spike. I pray this information is accurate this time, but I do not want to get my hopes up too high as my wife’s birthday was May 5th.
Thank You again for all you do for us,
fxr2
7/7/7 = Jackpot!
Thanks be to God, and let us triple our prayers for our Holy Father, Pope Benedict the Great!
fxr2: You could do better than me singing the Te Deum, but… maybe….
Well both the Roman and Solemn tunes of the Te Deum are available online and the quality is quite ok. What’s missing it the Simple Tune.
Roman: http://198.62.75.1/www2/cantgreg/cantus/te_deum_alio_modo_iuxta_morem_romanum.mp3
Solemn: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/db/Te.Deum.ogg
Aaaahhh….. now there’s a deadline to finish learning the Te Deum…. :p

Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum; habemus Liturgiam: Eminentissimum ac Reverendissimum Ritum, Ritum Romanum Sanctae Romanae Ecclesiae Usum Traditionalem, cui alii nomen imposuit Tridentinum. :)
Gosh, is it out?
Hey, there! Could someone wake up father Z.?
The news still isn’t on Catholic News Service. Instead, their front headline is:
“Arms and spirits high, charismatic Catholics mark 40 years of praise.”
Wow …
The Bolletino has confirmed details of the meeting yesterday. The existence of the MP can no longer be doubted! :)
TG2 State-TV news just reported the MP-news (which they anticipated days ago) but with a HUGE mistake (always the same…) : “The Latin Mass dates back to 1570″ . Yes, they mentioned St.Pius V . The terminology “Tridentine” and “St.PiusV” is misleading indeed!
Update: the TG1 (more expression of the Italian ecclesial NeoCon establishment) just didn’t mention the news in the lead-in (unlike all media today, even the most secularist).
…And it was “funny” to listen to the noon news of the Italian Episcopal Conference -owned Channel Sat2000 : they put the news in a corner, at the n-th place, moreover saying the same old trite : “The Tridentine rite is celebrated exclusively in Latin, with the priest with his back to the faithful ” (…and nothing more!). Let’s give them time… We’ll soon see the tide of ‘neocons’ “che saltano sul carro del vincitore” , as we say in Italy.
Amen!
FATHER! FATHER! THE BOLLETINO CONFIRMS THE MP! IT CONFIRMS YESTERDAY’S MEETING WITH THE CARDINAL SECRETARY OF STATE, AND THE POPE’S APPEARENCE AT THE END. AND IT GIVES DETAILS ABOUT THE NEXT STEPS TOWARDS THE PUBLICATION OF THE DOCUMENT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS!!!
Te Deum laudamus, Te Dominum confitemur…

I’d like to know why a 100 word comment would be eradicated due to “error” for not having the anti-spam word typed, even though the previews were processed fine. All I did was leave out the exclamation point.

I do it everytime. This way, if the text is lost, you don’t have to choose between re-typing the whole thing or giving up – you just have to copy it.
