The Cardinal Newman Society has this about Georgetown University’s invitation of HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius, supporter of Tiller the late-term abortionist, the President’s pointman in the attack on the Church’s and on freedom of religion, the architect of forcing Catholic institutions to pay for abortifacients….

Grab and Go Food Kit… 3 servings per day for 1 adult for 4 weeks or 4 adults for 1 week

We laity can sign petitions, or Bishops [Cardinal Weurl?] can step in.
Good production values.
Don’t know if they can say “unconstitutional mandate” until SCOTUS rules. Until then, it’s a tossup.
If nothing’s worked so far, I doubt any petitions will change anything. Something more drastic needs to happen. Find ways to cut them off from their god Mammon. Sic the Inquisitors on them and get rid of every faculty member that is a double-agent. Berate them charitably in public. No more soft-language. No more sparing the rod. Do it for the sake of saving souls, including their own.
Good video. Where is it being shown? One of our problems is that these things usually don’t get much beyond the people who already agree with their ideas anyway. That enables the press to go cheerfully running off to consult that great moral theologian Nancy Pelosi. Well, that and the silence of the respective bishops of these heretics.
Perhaps the Archdiocese of Washington and the Archdiocese of San Francisco each needs a coadjutor archbishop. This mechanism had been used in the past (particularly in the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Iowa with Abp. Beckman in the 1940′s) to effectively replace an existing ordinary whose actions (or inactions) had caused scandals in the church. In such case, the current archbishop would be allowed to retain his title/office (in name only) until he retires, but the actual power over the diocese would in fact be exercised by the coadjutor.
oldcanon2257 says:

The Abp of SF is already past retirement age, but SF is a terrible job that no one really wants. BTW, after the death of Cardinal Bernardin, I was told at least 5 bishops were offered Chicago and all turned it down, even though a red hat came with the position.
Cdl Wuerl is averse to confrontations and intimidated by liberals. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to this latest situation. He’ll issue some statement, but that will probably be all.
Pro abortion, gay marriage advocates, socialists, atheists(like Soros), unions, Hollywood, etc. are donating millions now to the Obama re-election fund to reward Obama and his cronies for his anti Catholic, anti Christian unconstitutional stands. If you want to know who someone is–look at who his friends are.
Georgetown is rewarding Sebelius.
Perhaps a better choice would be to invite her there to debate a knowledgable Catholic on the issues.
The Cardinal Newman Society does a great job by continuing to sound the alsrm about the anti Catholicism within Catholic Institutions.
Standing on the sideline is no longer an option Up to this point in America–we still have a choice but the clock is ticking.
Regardless of the ruling of that may be made by SCOTUS, reading and thinking persons recognize that the HHS mandate is unconstitutional.
As for the repeated nose thumbing by Georgetown and its faculty why cannot that university be required to cease and desist referring to themselves as Catholic. Also, the Jesuits have been suppressed before. Are they asking for it again?
robtbrown says:
Father Z would be a good candidate. If only Papa Benedict would consecrate Father Z and send him there as the new ordinary. While at it, send Father Guarnizo as an auxiliary. :D
I guess those 5 bishops did not want to bear the cross which was Pfleger? Sometimes I wonder out loud why Cardinal George has not suspended him a divinis.
Again, if only our beloved Holy Father would send Father Z and Father Guarnizo… Send in the cavalry too (priests of traditional orders). We could always hope and pray for it.
Technically in most cases (except for Switzerland and some places in Germany) the Holy Father could appoint any priest to be the ordinary of any diocese as he pleases (for example, the rapid rise of Abp. Christian Lepine of Montreal), even though he’s rarely ever exercised that option.
On an unrelated note, it seems that these days Ms. Zagano appears to have left Father Z alone? We haven’t heard anything further about that lately?
Yet another unrelated note, perhaps someday the Holy See would unilaterally annul some of these old concordats which are tying the Holy Father’s hands when it comes to bishops in Switzerland and some other places.
Assign SSPX Bishop Williamson to SF!
@ContraMundum:
Fellay might do some good in SF; Williamson is an antisemtic lunatic who should have no function in the Church at all except nuntio to the dark side of the moon. (regardless if he would accept regularization, which he probably won’t anyway)
@Phil_NL
But if Williamson were appointed to SF, it would create an enormous fireball easily visible to astronauts in the ISS!
I think it would be a fitting punishment for both of them.
Better yet: Make Williamson Nancy Pelosi’s personal confessor!
