All Alone in the Night

A reader alerted me to this video, which is way too cool.   Time-lapse video taken from the International Space Station when on the night-side of our little blue marble.

Stunning! As an aside it also brings a couple of points to mind. Contrary to the hyperbolic rantings of the “zero population” zealots, the earth is fairly empty. There’s plenty of room for all the people the Lord might wish to be born. Secondly, it reminds me of the old night-time satellite photos I used to show my student of the two Koreas at night. South Korea brightly lit vs. North Korea as dark as a tomb. It says all you need to say about freedom vs. slavery, liberty vs. communism. Thanks for posting this. I’m sending it out!
