YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS

Please use the sharing buttons! Thanks!

Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

Something is up. I’m getting many more requests for prayers than last year at this time

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand. We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

I still have a pressing personal petition.

  1. VexillaRegis says:

Please pray for C, E and K who all have malign cancer in different stages.

My parish is still in dire need of prayers! Our moody pastor went ballistic during Easter, and we are really scared. The bishop won’t do anything, so our only recourse is prayer.

My sister in law and my brother are expecting their first child in september. Would you please pray that they get married and have the baby baptised. They are both Catholic and there are no impediments. I’d like a Catholic niece! :-)

  2. VexillaRegis says:

Should read: My sister in law in spe!

  3. Elizabeth D says:

For M, whose cancer is back after several years (but seems localized in the same spot) and being operated on next week. M is a devout Catholic facing this entirely cheerfully (and will get anointed).

  4. Mike_in_Kenner says:

My wife and I are expecting our third child, a girl, whom we have decided to name Bridget Marie. The pregnancy is now 26 weeks along, and the normal due date would be July 14th. Five days ago (on Easter Monday), a routine medical exam, followed by a more specialized exam, revealed that Bridget has a serious heart defect, and that the nature of the heart defect also causes problems with the respiratory system by interfering with the development of the air ducts to the lungs. (The medical name for the condition is tetralogy of Fallot with absent pulmonary valve.) The condition is rare, which reduces the number of doctors and medical facilities capable of treating it. It is also serious, and there is a real danger of death before and after birth. From what we know so far, the best case scenario involves open-heart surgery very shortly after birth.

In your charity, would you please pray for the health of our daughter Bridget Marie? We want to be optimistic and to trust in God’s providence, which includes the benefits of modern medicine. Besides the medical concerns for Bridget’s natural health, we have a special concern for her spiritual health. Because we will likely have to travel to another city for the birth and surgery, we will have less familiarity with priests in whatever area we are in. We know we can provide an emergency Baptism, but Bridget’s danger of death would also indicate she should be Confirmed as soon as possible. One of our special prayer intentions is that we can have a priest standing-by at the hospital to Baptize and Confirm Bridget as soon as she is born, before she has to go to surgery. This would be a great consolation to us amidst many other worries. We will, of course, do our part to make contact with priests who might help us, but the shortage of priests makes their availability in an emergency somewhat uncertain.

    Thank you for your prayers.

  5. For the R family, the patriarch of which wants to file for divorce.

For L and K, suffering from cancer.

For B, a seminarian, who struggles regarding a certain addiction.

  6. jfk03 says:

I, an unprofitable sinner, will pray for these intentions. Please pray that with God’s help, I may overcome an addiction.

  7. NoraLee9 says:

Hubby interviewed at a Catholic High School. Please pray he gets the job.

  8. mysticalrose says:

Please pray for my neighbor’s son through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette, that he will overcome viral paralysis. I am praying for all your intentions, especially for Bridget Marie.

  9. exNOAAman says:

“Something is up. I’m getting many more requests for prayers than last year at this time”

Perhaps a reflection of the ever-increasing popularity of the Father Z blog?

  10. Arele says:

Please pray for the passage of HR 1257, the Rape Survivor Child Custody Act, with the inclusion of adoption language as well to protect women who choose adoption as well as to keep their babies conceived in rape.

Believe it or not, many states in the US currently allow even convicted rapists parental rights – the same rights as any other man who fathered a child. This is a travesty, and causes many women to choose abortion so that the rapist cannot assert his “rights” and cause ongoing pain and even danger for her and her baby. It is hard to believe we need this bill in this day and age, but we do.

Please pray for this bill to become law, AND to include protection for the choice for adoption as well, so that it is safe for women who were raped to choose life for their babies.

  11. DD says:

Praying for these intentions and Bridget Marie. Please pray that my daughter and her husband become at last successful in starting a family. They have been separated over the years by many military deployments. Thank you.

  12. oledocfarmer says:

Praying for everyone’s intentions. I am in personal and professional distress. Please pray for me in this time of distress.

  13. Susan G says:

Something us definitely up. It seems the entire Church is under an attack. This upcoming jubilee year must be powerful to have such consequence right now.

I ask for prayers for a dear friend and herhusband who have been battling infertility for 6 years and trying to foster and adopt for 3. Everytime they get close to an adoption, it galls through. They’re very discouraged and could use some prayer. In addition, she was struck suddenly very ill about an hour after the Easter vigil, and this week has been very hard on her. So prayers for her healing, too, would be appreciated.

I also ask for prayers for the conversion of the husband of another friend who is a professed atheist.

  14. stjoe says:

Please keep our daughter in your prayers. Several big college exams coming up — grades not good right now despite many hours of study.

Thanksgiving to God for a job promotion that was just received!

Please pray for my husband who will be traveling over the next few days, for his safety and especially for him to eat and sleep properly while on the road.

For myself as I try to corral small children while attempting a spring cleaning and swapping the furniture from two rooms around.

    For a private intention.

    Thank you!

  26. Skeinster says:

    Prayers for all.
Please pray for L., a family friend with a rare form of bone cancer, for continued healing.

And, not urgent- for me for the ability to discuss the current dangers to the Church in the world with my non-Catholic family without sounding like a loon.

  27. SanSan says:

Please pray for the Lonergan Family who have been homeless since Aug. 2014. A father and his 3 children had been spiraling down living in homeless shelters until Feb. 20th when we took them in. The father has found work and hopefully will be able to provide once again for his family and move out on their own by May 1st. We thank Our Dear Lord for allowing us to serve our neighbor in this small way. We pray that the 63 yr old father can continue working in good health for the sake of his children. Amen.

  28. SanSan says:

Pray for Father Tom Quinlivan who suffered an Aortic Dissection earlier this year and is still recovering.

Pray for Father Dave who is trying to be both pastor and pastoral vicar to Father Tom’s parish -despite only being ordained about 3 years.

    Pray for all priests.

  30. andia says:

I will pray for all these, for Father Z’s intentions

And could you add a very special intention for Father David W Bialkowski.

    Thank you so much

  31. Mike says:

I will bring all these intentions to Holy Mass today.

  32. Sandy says:

Mother Mary and St. Joseph intercede for all of us. Please pray that our daughter L. sells her little condominium as she is in dire straits financially. She must support 2 children and receives almost no help from their father. I also ask the Lord to give my mother total peace about being in assisted living and to somehow understand that she can’t go back to her house. God bless and assist you too, Father Z.

  33. lmgilbert says:

Please remember Meethos, a 16 yr old , who after a brush with evangelical Christianity has followed his family into Wicca, is starting to hear voices, is going off the rails . . . . The only reason he is not in a juvenile mental health facility here in Oregon, is that there is a year’s waiting list.

Please remember Josefina, single migrant mother of four who is raising her children in a hovel-two bedrooms, a bath and a miniscule kitchen.

  34. Supertradmum says:

For my three atheist/agnostic brothers, for a very important decision in our family, for me to find another home for myself and my chapel by May 20th, when I have to leave where I am.

  35. Rachel K says:

    Dear Mike_in_Kenne,

I was sorry to read of the diagnosis you have for Bridget Marie and will be praying that you can find a good surgical team who can bring her to full health. Also, that God may choose to heal her through His grace alone, and for peace in your hearts.
My dear son, Sam, has Down Syndrome and had a heart repair through open surgery at 5 months, for a complete AVSD. I know that Fallot’s tetralogy is complex and will require excellent care. Sam is completely recovered now and his heart functions well, thanks be to God.
As Bridget’s due date is the 14th July( the same day as my daughter, Anna) you could pray to St Maria Goretti as her feast day is nine days before. Anna was also due on 14th and we started a novena to St Maria on 6th for her safe delivery. Despite difficult circumstances due to medical issues for me, she was born safely on the ninth day of the novena!

Could you all continue prayers for me and our children please as we we step through life without my husband who has left us and is living now with another woman, we are all indeed under attack, Lord have mercy on us.

  36. Supertradmum says:

Rachel K, special prayers for you today.

Please continue to keep in your hearts and prayers a special intention for a young priest, a my very dear friend, Fr. JM. It is important, I promise….
And my little friend Miss Molly – you may recall, she is but 13 months old and on Holy Thursday, underwent her 3rd brain operation….it was 98% successful, and she will be checked in 6 months to see if all is as it should be. 42. midwestmom says:

Please pray for the administrators and bishops of two Catholic high schools in Omaha, NE and Des Moines, IA who are under attack for not renewing teaching contracts for teachers living in gay relationships. Truly diabolical tactics being thrown at the Church.

  43. Lady Catcliffe says:

Please continue to pray for my husband, “Lord Catcliffe,” whose Stage IV lung cancer has progressed again after eight cycles of the most recent chemotherapy. Thank God that he has lived almost three years past diagnosis. Please pray for me and our son “Squire Catcliffe” (age 12) to always keep the faith no matter what, and to trust God for whatever comes next in terms of treatment. Please pray for all the financial realities and decisions related to this situation. I am praying for all of you. P.S., Father Z, belated thank you for the AdventcaZts and LentcaZts, which helped to sanctify these holy seasons.

  44. Latin Mass Type says:

Earlier I had been looking at all the requests realizing that the difficulties in my life are not so difficult. I have recently had one of my own prayer requests answered so, knowing the power of prayer, I will pray for you all!

Today I visited my mom who is in her late nineties and who has been having strange hallucinations. I was able to sit with her and quietly talk about what has been going on. She told me a few things she has not told anyone else that lead me to believe that she is being afflicted by demons. I thank God that she is strong willed and will not let them “take over”. I’ve suggested that she pray and keep her rosary handy. We prayed to St. Michael together.

Would you kindly pray that she remain strong? Although she is not experiencing any health problems I am afraid that her time on earth may be coming to an end and that could be why she is being afflicted. I think the state of her soul is pretty strong–her priest administered healing of the sick just before Easter. She will be going to the doctor tomorrow to rule out medical issues.

Thank you for your prayers and you will all be in mine.

  45. lmo1968 says:

Please pray for me that my car doesn’t break down or need any kind of repair which I can’t afford. Please pray for me also that I can support myself through the work I get. Also, please pray that I may love the Lord more than anyone or anything created by Him. Thank you.

  46. lmo1968 says:

I forgot: Please pray that I may be able to get in to see my doctor (it’s hard to get an appointment and my insurance, Medicaid, means my options are limited) for med/eval. Thank you.

  47. iepuras says:

Please pray for the soul of J who after many years of depression and PTSD committed suicide on Great and Holy Friday. Also pray for his wonderful family S, L and L as they grieve.

    For A and M’s marriage.

For the grace to humbly unite personal suffering to that of the Passion.

  50. Diane says:

Please pray for April who is in North Georgia Medical Center in critical condition. April was 32 weeks pregnant and her uterus ruptured and she has lost 4 pints of blood. This is their first child.

  51. Diane says:

Please pray for my granddaughter Madeline who has just suffered another concussion while playing volleyball. She is 14. I pray for total healing for her brain and God’s tender care of her.
I also pray for your intention Father Z.

  52. aviva meriam says:

I apologize for adding these at this (relatively late date):

For S.R (a 6 month old baby on a ventilator due to major lung infections): may she have an easy and rapid recovery
    For comfort to her family.

For my family: we have two somewhat urgent personal intentions.

  53. I will add these intentions to my rosary.
I would like to ask for prayers in a very difficult decision re accepting/pulling out of a job offer – I will need to make a decision tomorrow. Thank you.
