YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS

Please use the sharing buttons! Thanks!

Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand. We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below.

You have to be registered here to be able to post.

I still have a pressing personal petition.  Really.

  1. John Grammaticus says:

    1) for a promotion at work that would enable to me to start thinking about starting a family of my own

    2) that my application to joint the Territorial Army (roughly the British equivalent of the National Guard) will be accepted.

    3) for professional examinations that I’m currently taking

    4) conversion of friends, family, co-workers etc.

  2. VexillaRegis says:

My dear elderly friend Mrs K needs prayers as she hasn’t recovered as much as we hoped from her stroke. Please say a prayer for this devout and kind lady.

Our parish still suffers greatly from having an abusive and very angry pastor, our only priest at that. Pray that we get a new good one before the parish is completely destroyed, socially, spiritually and financially.

Pray for me that I will be offered a certain job position I really want and need.

Please pray for my family. I will pray for all of you – and say a special prayer for our host :-)!

(First, I’m already looking into the legal end of it, advice not needed.) Work’s playing a game of Chicken with the ADA and trying to toss me not for BEING autistic, but for how the symptoms affect me at work. I’ve been miserable here almost the entire time, so I WOULDN’T care, but 1) one of my best friends (formerly) works here and he stabbed me in the back and that’s part of how I got here, and 2) my job hunt has been going NOWHERE, so I’m going to be unemployed by the end of the year unless a literal miracle happens. So if anyone knows how to trigger one of those, I’d appreciate it =-p

  4. Please pray for my friends, Frances and Felix, and all the others who have lost their homes and/or their lives due to the flooding in Louisiana.

    Thank you

  5. Prayerful says:

Pray for two personal issues one employment and the other legal related. I hope my poor prayers can aid the intentions of people here, from Fr to the commenters.

  6. TimG says:

Please pray for our 18 yr old son, who has just started at the Number 2 ranked Party School in the country. (The University of Iowa) , that he may stay true to Our Lord and the Catholic Faith. There is a solid parish within walking distance, St Wenceslaus.

Also, please pray for the Newman Center, which is reportedly making positive strides towards Large C Catholicism. Hopefully the drum set has been removed from the chapel….

  7. Joan M says:

  8. joan ellen says:

Joan M….Just offered an Our Father for you. Hang in there. My husband lived with a stroke for 18 years…& made improvements…mostly small…but they add up… every day to his last breath.

Offering an Our Father for Fr. Z, and one for all others…& will offer my novenaforournation.com as well to all.

  9. DavidJ says:

    1) For the USA
    2) For my family, especially my oldest son, that he be healed of his disabilities
    3) For an upcoming family retreat we’ll be taking part in, for those putting it on and those of us attending

  10. Stvsmith2009 says:

Please pray for my cousin Kim, who has lymphoma, and has been undergoing chemotherapy. She is hospitalized for the 4th time due to the chemo’s weakening of her immune system.

  11. jameeka says:

I would like to humbly ask for some prayers, special intention, clarity please. Thank you and I will pray for all your intentions.

  12. Fr. Reader says:

    For Mr Chen, please.

  13. Mariana2 says:

Of your charity, please pray for my 55-year old brother. He has had several strokes, a heart attack, is nearly blind from being negligent about his diabetes, and that is just for starters. I’ll spare you the rest. After several months in hospital, he is now at home, with nurses coming in three times a day, but is confused and afraid of being alone (he has no family). He needs to be in a home. Apparently you have to be 65 automatically to be taken in. (Unless it’s a private home, which he can’t afford.)

Praying for the above intentions, and, later, for those below.

  14. MrsMacD says:

For my sister M’s family, her ninth child is due in less than a month, she is taking care of my crippled elderly father and my two youngest siblings and all three of her bathrooms (two brand new) are leaking and mould has been growing/muliplying in the walls.

For my son, who is going away to school. And that the room/board/tuition will be paid for.

For my best girlfriend who is away discerning a religious vocation.

For my neighbour, who’s business just had five cars crash (different people, different scenarios).

For my friend D, who’s son is going to seminary and he has been her right hand in helping to care for her crippled elderly parents and her son with CP.

For my sister T, who is still away from the church, and tormented by demons.

For our Pope, bishops, and for our priests.

  15. Peter Stuart says:

For my struggles with SSA impurity. Past few weeks have been especially frustrating.
That I may let go of frustration and anger and practice more gratitude.
For the reversal of decline in my urban parish.
For the return of my brother to the Church, and for his family to come with him.

You are all in my prayers.

  16. VexillaRegis says:

Dear Mariana, if I may ask, how’s your son doing?

  17. Marc M says:

For a close friend whose cancer has returned, seemingly more aggressively this time.

For my sister’s return to the Church.

For my parents, struggling with something painful.

For several friends and relatives, all having new babies around the same time. Ourselves included.

For the repose of the soul of my wife’s mother, who died six years ago suddenly, estranged. And for the reconciliation of the rest of her family.

For my family, our marriage, and some personal struggles.

  18. Mariana2 says:

Dear Vexilla Regis, Thank you for your kindness in enquiring about my son! He is very wayward, mostly from not being very intelligent. He did go to confession at Easter, but refuses to attend Mass. My husband is still Lutheran, so I don’t get any help with the Catholic thing there.

  19. ClavesCoelorum says:

For my own health, that the diagnosis I most fear may not come true.

  20. Ellen says:

So much to pray for. I will pray for all of you. Prayers for me to get over feelings of loneliness that often overwhelm me. Pray that my children will come back to the church. I sacrificed a lot to send them to a Catholic school and they don’t go any more.

  21. Nan says:

Please pray for my sister, who is not religious and is dying from colon cancer. She has no desire to see a priest, is in home hospice and isn’t managing her pain very well. She worries about not having enough time to get her affairs in order. I’m helping her but she has others pushing her to do what they want instead of what she wants.

  22. un-ionized says:

I will pray for everyone too. Many of you have prayer requests like mine, struggling with a disability that people discount, my recent escape from an abusive pastor, loneliness as I age and my friends die and I have no family except the church people who I left so it’s like they have died too and no one cares. But the purpose of all this is to drive us right into the arms of Jesus. We are always safe there.

  23. VexillaRegis says:

Dear Mariana, so sorry to hear that. I’ll continue praying for him.

  24. Moro says:

    1. For my mother’s health and return to the sacraments
    2. For the grace of a full time job that best uses my talents and enables me to support a family
    3. For the grace to make substantial progress against some of my bad habits (according to goals set by me).
    4. For those caught in addictions

  25. momoften says:

In your kindness and generosity, please especially pray for my sister. She had a serious brain aneurysm burst last year. She had damage to her motivational and short term memory. She has
4 children she thinks she can homeschool this year and her husband is burned out and is letting her do so. They were offered tuition at the Catholic School the kids attended last year~she refuses. The children were behind last year, especially the younger 2. This is a disaster looming. Sigh.

  26. GypsyMom says:

    1. Please pray for my husband to get a better job. After 14 months unemployed, the job he now has pays too little, and there is no hope for the raise they promised him when they hired him.
    2. Also pray for employment for Corey, who has been unemployed for four months and is raising ten children.
    3. Pray for my sister who has health problems. She is finally beginning to get the help she should have been given 25 years ago, but it will take some months for improvement.
Praying for everyone here, and for Fr. Z’s intention.

  27. AVL says:

Pray for the Lord to give my dad enough time on this earth to convert before he dies. I believe he may have demons attached to him due to involvement in masonic activities. Pray that his soul will not be lost.

Pray for my mom to also convert.

Pray for my sister (newly converted last Easter) to remain strong in the faith and to preserve her chastity despite a non-Christian divorced boyfriend and dad of 3, who just got back from being deployed overseas.

And for a healthy pregnancy for me, and health and well-being for my in utero twins :)

Will pray for all here and Fr. Z’s personal petition. God bless.

  28. FloridaJoan says:

I remembered all requests in my nightly rosary

    Pax et bonum

  29. Tinidril says:

This past Christmas, I was given the extraordinary gift of a pilgrimage (with my daughter, no less) to Fatima, Lourdes, and Paris (with a couple of side trips) by someone very beloved by me. We will be leaving Sept. 6 and returning Sept. 15. I’m already planning to pray for Fr. Z’s intentions, as well as those of everyone here. I ask that you pray for me, too, and for my daughter, who isn’t very religious at the moment (she just turned 24, by the way), that the pilgrimage is fruitful, and that we get there and back home in safety.

As Murphy’s Law is always in effect, of course there’ve been hitches. The most recent is that a couple of days agou my car was driven into one of the infamous potholes of my city and the transmission was damaged to the tune of more than $1,200. The money, thank God, is available, but it pretty much wiped out the fund put aside for “spending money” overseas. So if you’d pray that something turns up in the nature of at least a *little* money for our daily expenses abroad, I’d be most grateful. And I will be praying at Our Lady’s shrines for all of you.

  30. aviva meriam says:

Prayers for everyone above, and later for anyone who posts after me.

In your charity, if you would pray for the following intentions:
    1. For the US
    2. For my project at work: that we get the grant and financial support we need to continue. Without the grant, I will desperately need to find another job , quickly
    3. For the ability to pay my son’s expenses at school: may he also find success there.

    Thank You.

  31. JesusFreak84 says:

Just got a new one: http://esnucc.org/news-events/news/2016/august/17/bishop-richard-s-seminack The Ukrainian-Catholic Bishop of Chicago has passed away. Prayers requested for the repose of his soul, of course, but also for those responsible for appointing his successor. The Eparchy of St. Nicholas covers the vast majority of the United States, literally from Indiana out to Hawaii, so I would imagine our next Bishop, if he’s even from this Eparchy, could come from just about anywhere.

  32. JabbaPapa says:

A sudden improvement in the health of my knees has occurred.

I hope that this is from the Lord …

I ask for a prayer that this health improvement be fruitful both in and beyond its own virtues in the holy Grace of Caritas, towards a return of better attendance to Holy Mass in our Parish, to the Camino de Santiago for a Promise yet unfulfilled, towards whatever manner of evangelisation I can provide, and to whatever of the Lord’s Plan for me that I cannot see on my own, for the virtue that anything that I may have received in Charism, Grace, and Miracle may be fruitful in service to the Holy Catholic Christian Faith for our Lord God in His Sacred Trinity with all Saints and Angels.

God Bless thee, and God bless us all, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and in Communion with our Saints Mary, James, Peter, Paul, Thomas, Augustine, Aquinas, John Baptist, John Evangelist, Abraham, Moses, David, Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and all of God’s Angels, and please pray for our Guardian Angels because the work that we give them from our sins is Holy.

  33. Songbird33 says:

    1. Please ask the Good Lord to provide employment for me, with the means by which to pay for this dwelling He has arranged for me.
    2. Please ask the Holy Spirit to grace me with courage, trust and obedience as I struggle with an addiction.
    3. Please pray for the conversion of my family, all of whom are baptized Catholics but non-practicing and in grave mortal danger.
    4. For Patty and her unborn child, who at 25 weeks is in the hospital.
    5. For the earthquake victims in Italy; for the flood victims in Louisiana.
    6. For my dear friend who is struggling to find the means to care for her husband whose kidney surgery went well, but post-op complications have basically taken her husband from her both in body, mind and spirit.
