New, traditional Carmelite community for men

From my email:

Thanks for all you do. I’ve enjoyed your blog for years.

I’m just contacting you to spread word of a new religious community starting which is called the Hermits of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (“Eremitae Dominae Nostrae De Monte Carmelo”).

They are a group of laymen currently seeking canonical approval to observe the unmitigated Rule of St. Albert. They use the 1938 Carmelite Breviary, and seek to (…when they have priests) celebrate exclusively the EF (Carmelite Rite).

They are in need of prayer, some more notoriety, as well as financial assistance (’tis the season for alms!) in beginning their foundation.  They have a property available to them in North Carolina, but need help raising the funds to pay for the land.

Anyway, thanks for whatever you might think good to do for them. And my apologies if you’re already familiar with the community.

Here’s their website: https://www.eremitaednmc.org/

    I’ve heard good things of them. But, if it’s the same group I’ve heard of, then, for the sake of clarity, they are not a religious community, but rather a laura of hermits, which are technically two different things. But then, I thought the hermits I’d heard of were in Texas, so maybe this is a different group?

    Does anyone know why they aren’t just joining the Traditional Carmelites in Wyoming?

    [Because they are doing something else.]

    In the Charlotte Diocese, we are so blessed. These men are having their acreage in the western part of the Diocese, and the St. Joseph Seminary is still struggling to raise their money too. What great problems to have! Vocations are springing up like crazy here, and people are listening intently to God’s call.

    @Cafea Fruor
    The Carmelite Hermits in Texas are an autonomous group affiliated with the Order of Carmelites, the order to which I belong.

    The link to their website is here http://www.carmelitehermits.org/

    Both these men as well as the Carmelites in Wyoming are groups independent from both the Order of Carmelites and the Order of Discalced Carmelites.
