At Fishwrap today (aka National Schismatic Reporter – a prayer for it HERE), the Wile E. Coyote of the catholic Left, has a round up of stories which interested him. He usually adds some commentary. He picked up on my new catholic Red Guards analogy. He takes it as a compliment to be included in the list I mentioned and thanks me.
I’m happy to oblige, ??!
Sounds like Wile E. likes the company he is keeping. Which reminded me of the scene from the “Man for all Seasons” where Thomas More asks Norfolk:
And when we die, and you are sent to heaven for doing your conscience, and I am sent to hell for not doing mine, will you come with me, for fellowship?
Not that I am asserting that all those people are like Norfolk in obeying their consciences. Who am I to judge? I am just saying that people should pay attention to the company they keep. And liking them is hardly comparable to making a good judgment of whether they are helping you or hurting you in going heavenward.
Tóngzhì! Too funny! Thank you for the laugh, Father; I needed it.
