Over at American Papist there is a good roundup of coverage on what the Holy Father said in Regensburg that has some muslims freaking out and burning him in effigy.
Take a little time and read some of the stories American Papist link to in his entry.
My reaction at this is point is this: I cannot fathom why news outlets pay dopes to write articles about things they have no clue about.

Nowadays, news and media is not about reporting the truth, it is about selling advertising space or time. Wars sell papers, not peace.
Obviously that isn’t completely true, but I think that is what motivates many in corporate media outlets.
Sort of like how the Ancora bookstore across the street from the Vatican sells just about anything with the word Catholic on it (be it orthodox or heretical). Roman Graduale? they have that; the Ennegram? they have books on that too; Charles Curran books? You bet. (Unless they have cleaned up their selection in the last few years.)
The Press loves controversy. When there isn’t any, they create it. If it was
not for the Catholic Press, I would not even know the Holy Father had been in
Germany for all the coverage of his visit the major media outlets have
given it.
The Holy Father was quoting someone else, though I agree with the point he was
making with the quote. The Muslims doing this “rioting” are not making the
case that their Faith is one of peace.
Now, we all get to be afraid for the Holy Father when he visits Turkey.
Now some muslims want to attack the Vatican!
May God bless and protect the Holy Father!
