Where you are

I am always fascinated to see the places people are when they visit the blog.  These are not always perfectly accurate, of course.  Sometimes only areas are registered.  Still…

I cut out all the "Unknown" and vague entries such as "Canada".

Here is a snapshop of a few minutes of visits.

Amazing… how we can network across the globe in the blink of an eye.

Drat! Missed it again. College Station will at least get “Honorable Mention” in the ComBox.

  2. joe says:

Aren’t you really picking up where their SERVER resides ?

  3. Luigi says:

Very cool. I’ll never forget getting my first computer and I managed to chat with someone in London. (I’m in the Baltiore area.) Blew me away. My kids are not nearly as impressed.

I was looking for Vatican City State, but I guess Rome, Lazio covers it. Now that the Holy Father is on to the internet thing, I wonder which Dicastery will be foramlly assigned to monitor WDTPRS for breaking news, (not to mention frank commentary.)

  4. Bart Stevens says:

    Don’t forget Lewistown, Montana!!!

  5. irishgirl says:

And Utica, New York….the hometown of Blessed Mother Marianne Cope!

  6. Corleone says:

Palermo, Sicily. ‘A terra della Trinacria. Sant’Oliva prega per noi!

  7. Ed says:

Hensley, Arkansas! Howdy to Mcrae, AR.

Vatican City (or is that Holy See?) has popped up on Father’s Where You Are lists before.

  8. Dale Crakes says:

You could have put the list in alphabetical order. [ROFL! Yes… I guess I could have.]

  9. Emilio III says:

Joe, most people don’t use a proxy server for Internet access, so the IP address Fr Z sees is most likely their router’s. Identifying the location of the router is not an exact science, since many ISPs obscure the information, but it’s fairly close. (My home and work computers are both shown to be in Plano, TX, but one is in Dallas and the other in Fort Worth, on different ISPs.)

  10. Dr. Eric says:

    Nashville, IL

I want to know who it is that is from Perryville, MO. I used to live there!

  34. Thomas says:

I think it’s outrageous and bigoted to remove “Parts Unknown” from the list! Don’t be surprised when Papa Shango knocks down your door and puts a curse on you.

This insult to the wrestling industry will not stand.

  56. thomas says:

Wonderful full missa cantata (in the Dominican Rite) at St Thomas Aquinas in Charlottesville, VA yesterday. Chapel, and overflow area, was packed and the Mass fully exercised both heart and head. The first row pews were used as an altar rail, which worked fairly well, I thought. Great to hear chant fill the lovely little chapel for both ordinaries (thanks to folks from 7:30am gregorian mass) and well done propers..esprit de corps all round, so to speak.

My personal opinion is that the only decent acoustics come, as here, when sanctuary is packed to overflowing and there is no artifical amplification.

  57. Jane says:

    Doonside NSW Sydney, Australia

  58. Kokomo, Indiana
    The United States of America
