Praise be to God! I attend St. Wenceslaus in Iowa City, just 30 minutes away. We’ve had TLM for about 3/4 of a year now, and it’s developed a very solid and regular attendance that has been steadily growing. I hope the same happens with our brothers in Christ in CR. Our time is at 3pm, which hinders growth – I’m so happy to see a mass being celebrated at a more standard time!
Great news on a Friday! This priest is a true liberal – open and generous and willing to serve all of his flock, in stark contrast to many priests
who claim to be liberal but are in fact rigid and unbending in their adherence to the 1960s. Tom
Is it just me or when the TLM is offered on something that approaches a weekely basis then it is ONLY offered at a ridiculously early time ? its almost a grudging resistnece \’well we\’ll let you have the TLM but only at a time its difficult to get to\’ its very annoying, why can’t the TLM be offered for the nine or the eleven o clock mass when more people can get to it?
That didn’t take long.
Deo gratias!
Wonderful to see that the Traditional Latin Mass if being promoted! We are pleased to have had our first one in Kenosha, WI on Mother’s Day. Over 300 were in attendance!
The next Traditional Latin Mass will be June 14, 2009 at 3 PM. For more information:

There was a beautiful feature article printed in our daily newspaper also!

LMK, I think Father Z would approve of that newspaper article very, very much. The writer actually gets it and wrote in a respectful manner and
didn’t pull the usual stunt of finding people opposed to the TLM to provide “balance” to the article. Tom
7am is a great time to celebrate any Mass. I am truly envious. A traditional Catholic who observes the midnight fast would have no problem here and traditionally Mass is celebrated in the morning.
Paul perhaps I should clarify, for is hard (logisticaly) for some people to get to a 7am mass as no public transport starts before 8am and not everyone is able to/can afford to drive here in the UK
great news for the Cedar Rapids area – the TLM is spreading slowly up and down the mississippi
Steve, I’m surprised – a fellow Fr. Mike attendee (though more rare since we moved out of town, Waterloo area now). Are you a long-timer?
That is great news for the IC and CR areas! May this continue northward up the Cedar River to Waterloo. We continue ask and pray for this locally.
Jennifer,
From you lips to God’s ears. The last time I spoke with anyone from the archdiocese, the response I received was that Dyersville already has one. “And that takes care of it…”
Jennifer,
Try to get in touch with Fr. Kopacek. I think he is at St. Edward’s in Waterloo. He used to offer the EF Mass in Dyersville.
He cares for souls.
