In your charity please pray for the soul of Msgr. Mario Marini, a friend of mine, who died on Sunday morning.
He died of cancer, which had metastasized aggressively.
Msgr. Marini was the Secretary of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei" and before that the Under Secretary at the CDWDS. He was a Canon of St. Peter’s Basilica.
He was a man of exceptionally good humor and clear thought.

What a wonderful personality Msgr. Marini must have had. I have always been intrigued with the Canons at St. Peter’s, especially at Vespers on Sunday afternoons and at the Sunday Solemn Masses at the Altar of the Chair. The ones I have met have always been extremely kind. I’m not 100% sure which one was Msgr. Marini, but I will definitely pray for the repose of his soul.

As to Archbishop Piero Marini being “evil,” all I can say is that he stood at the Pope’s elbow for decades and didn’t seem to displease his master nor did he receive the paternal correction that most of us would have thought desirable.
A sad loss. I will offer a rosary for the repose of his soul.
