The Feeder Feed – literally

Here is a long distance edition of the Feeder Feed.

I am in Manhattan, but I was checking the webcams at the feeders back home to see what was up and if any of them were empty.

Here is what I found!

I was able to enjoy from afar Mr. Indigo Bunting and some Mozart on RADIO SABINA, followed immediately by a selection of Chinese Opera.

I could see on another cam that the big hanging feeder is empty.  Time to make a call or two.

In any event, you never know who is going to show up when you happen to be looking.

    I love that bird.

Maybe I can talk my neighbors into putting a webcam on their feeder. :)

  2. doanli: The Indigo Buntings are very flashy. A few years ago there were several pairs at the feeder. This year I have seen only this lone male. At least I think it is just this one male.

It must be so nice to be able to keep an eye on the birdz & feeders. What if they could see you on a reverse set-up? A little bit ago, there were 4 goldfinches there, eating & swinging.

  4. What a lovely bird to see at your feeder. The female Indigo Bunting is a warm brown with a paler breast. I have never seen a female but I’ve heard they are very hinky around feeders, preferring better cover .

    What gorgeous blue feathers!
