Besides not forgetting this is a First Friday, also remember the conditions by which you earn the First Friday’s reward. Conditions set by the Church. Tomorrow then is a first Saturday, please I remind you remember Mary of Fatima’s request too

We have devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus & Immaculate Heart of Mary on 1st Fridays & Saturdays respectively. Statues are enshrined and consecration, litanies and other prayers are said in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament w/ benediction.

I was serving at Mass this morning and was wondering why there were so many people there today. I realized half way through Communion that it was First Friday and was glad I got out of bed this morning. Mass is at 0630 and I’m definitely not a morning person :-)

Myself and my children have been able to faithfully attend First Fridays for over a year now, and sometimes my husband gets to leave work long enough to join us.

Today I’ve invited two more families to join us.

July 2 is also the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (EF calendar). Also my baptismal day. Had confession this morning and will assist at mass tonight. =)

  7. Rachel Pineda says:

One of the religious sisters who goes to the same weekday Mass I do struck up a conversation with me one day outside church. Since she was in first grade, she has never missed the First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart. I would never be so rude as to ask her age but I’m guessing she’s in her sixties, and despite the fact that her order no longer wears a traditional habit, she does. How’s that for inspiration?

Oh! to be able to go to the Traditional Latin Mass once again on the First Fridays and First Saturdays, alas I will not live to see it and attend. But am so greatful to be able to go on Sunday’s.
