I am surprised that I, a bibliophile, don’t know much about these just too cool books. I knew of their existence, and the memory lingered in the back of my mind, but go now and have a look at the blog of the great artist Daniel Mitsui (his art makes great gifts), The Lion and the Cardinal. Yeah these things are great. My library (OSU Music) has a facsimile reproduction of the one he features, it’s a neat little book full of 15th c. chansons.
