  1. Habuimus non papam. A terrible day requiring much chocolate.

  2. acricketchirps says:

Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t a coincidence that the new baby cricket’s starting solid food on this anniversary. Habemus Pablum.

  3. SimonDodd says:

    A bleak and black anniversary.

  4. HighMass says:

Like FDR said on 12/8/41, that 12/7/41, was a day that would live in infamy, we in the life of the Church feel the same about February 2013….

Oh Pope Benedict, what a good Pope you were! How we Love YOU and Miss You, and wish you were in the Chair of St. Peter :(

  5. anna 6 says:

I miss that dear, fine pope.
God bless you Benedict XVI, Pope Emeritus!

  6. Lin says:

I remember being overjoyed when Joseph Ratzinger was elected pope and great dismay when he retired! And I was astounded when a Jesuit was elected! God bless our Pope Emeritus and Pope Francis!

  7. Bea says:

Tears were shed, then and now.

  8. John F. says:

I was lucky enough to receive his final blessing as Pope when he made his last appearance on the balcony at Castle Gondolfo. I still have difficulty holding back tears when I think of being there and how lucky I was to be able to be part of the crowd in the square as we were praying with him and for him.
