Ad Multos Gloriousque Annos! I pray that God will preserve his health and well-being in the years to come. We need him!
Amen, amen
Feast of Ss Peter and Paul! A Fine Day for one who so loves and cares for the Unam Sanctam.
Thanks for this reminder, Father. That means it has already been 15 years since I served at his 25th anniversary Mass in La Crosse. Wow. A lot has happened since then… Looking forward to seeing the Cardinal at the canon law conference next month.
God bless Cardinal Burke!
I’m not someone who follows Catholic politics all that much and before I met him, I sort of had this unconscious opinion of Burke being some firebrand, doubtlessly watered from time to time from reading some secular news article. That couldn’t be further from the truth. He was has a gentleness that is amazing to behold. Thanks to Card. Burke for his tireless faith to the Church founded by Christ.
I can only the good words posted here about this great man. May God bless, guide and protect and advance his work at the service of TRUTH!
Amen!
All vocations are to be appreciated, to be held deeply sacred, but in our time, this man’s vocation, so well lived, is most deeply held sacred and appreciated. His wisdom and fortitude have gotten this commenter through a knotty year. God bless you and hold you to His Heart, Cardinal Burke.
Congratulations, Cardinal Burke! God bless you!
May God Bless him abundantly.
I pray for him daily and one of my prize possessions is a response to a letter I wrote him when he was under PB16. He is a most kind man and sensitive priest.
Beautiful day to be ordained: Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, may they bless, intercede and protect this valiant priest.
Moral_Hazard’s and Bea’s comments reflect my own thoughts on Cardinal Burke. He is indeed a kind, gentle, and in my view, a very holy man. I pray for him daily.
I always delight in reading what Cardinal Burke writes and says. I can trust that what comes from him is what the Church has always taught. Recently, in June he spoke at the NET Gala in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. David Warren, who writes regularly for The Catholic Thing, and who attended the Gala, says this about Cardinal Burke : “he has the courage to resist intimidation, and the grace to persist as a champion of what Holy Church teaches, and has always taught”.
Cardinal Burke also sent Mr. Warren an edited version of his speech at the Gala, where he (Cardinal Burke) was the key note speaker. Mr. Warren published it on his blog, David Warren Online on June 15, for those of you interested in what Cardinal Burke had to say to the youth. NET Ministries is primarily geared toward evangelizing youth. The fact that the youth gave the Cardinal a standing ovation after his speech gives me hope: the Cardinal does not only resonate with the ‘older’ Catholics, he also resonates with the youth. God Bless Cardinal Burke!
God bless Cardinal Burke. In July he will be at the Eternal Life Church Teaches Forum in Louisville, an annual conference which featured Servant of God Fr. John Hardon.

Happy Birthday Cardinal Burke. You are always in my prayers.
Oh my gosh, RichR! What a cute little towhead he was!
Happy Birthday Cardinal Burke and Congratulations on your 40 year anniversary. God grant you many more!
Ad multos annos.
His Eminence was indeed ordained by Paul VI: http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/bishop/bburke.html… and then consecrated a bishop by Saint John Paul II.
What a waste of intellect not having His Emminence still serving as the Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura.
Thank you Cardinal Burke for your service to the Catholic Church.
May God Bless him always!
