In honor of St. Dominic…

In the Ordinary Form calendar today is the Feast of St. Dominic.  You might check out the site of the wonderful Summit Dominicans, the great “Soap Sisters” in New Jersey.  I think that, today, they have some things on sale in their online shop today, in honor of their great founder, who took care of business with the Albigensians.

The sisters need to build.  They are crammed into convent that is too small for the numbers of women who would like to join them.  Give them all the support you can!

Such fabulous sisters! And they make fantastic soap.

  2. Mike says:

I nearly reached for the Barbasol™ this morning but ended up allowing myself the extra 20 seconds to stir up a lather in the shaving cup. My medicine closet contains an ample supply of Dominican sisters’ soap and there’s no excuse not to use it.

  3. Just as an aside…notice how happy they all seem?

  4. The Masked Chicken says:

See the dog – a Dominican dog! When St. Dominic’s mother was pregnant with him, she had a dream of a dog carrying a torch in his mouth. This was interpreted to mean that her son would light a fire throughout the whole world. I know that the dog in the picture is just a dog – or is it? Subliminal evangelization!
