EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Pro-abort population controller ‘thrilled’ with direction Francis is taking Church

February 9, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — The undisputed father of the modern, pro-abortion population control movement told LifeSiteNews in an exclusive interview that he is “thrilled” with the direction Pope Francis is taking the Catholic Church.

“I’m thrilled with the new pope moving the Church in the right direction,” Dr. Paul Ehrlich, author of the 1968 bestseller The Population Bomb, told LifeSiteNews in a back-and-forth email exchange this week.

He denounced Catholicism as “dangerous” in a January 2013 article (two months prior to Francis’ election) for its opposition to contraception.

Read the rest there.  It is pretty interesting.

You can’t make some things up.

LifeSite reports that Paul Ehrlich has been invited to speak at an event sponsored by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

Paul Ehrlich, perhaps the most famous advocate and promoter of abortion for the sake of population control, has been invited to speak.  Compulsory abortions… sex-selection abortions… infanticide.

PAUL EHRLICH?  Author of the Population Bomb?  THAT PAUL EHRLICH?

Asking Paul Ehrlich to speak at a Vatican event is like asking…

… Sweeny Todd to cater your luncheon.

… Jenna Jameson to preface your book on sacramental marriage.

… Nero to head up the fire department.

… Anthony Wiener to manage your social media.

… Godfried Danneels to head your commission on abuse.

It’s like….

  2. thomas tucker says:

Asking Lorena Bobbitt to do the circumcision.

  3. Scott W. says:

Erhlich?! Who pulled that irrelevant guy out of mothballs?

  4. ChgoCatholic says:

I read a while back that Pontifical Academies had started bringing in members who were publicly adverse to Church teaching in their work. Also, didn’t they just recently drop the pledge for members of the Academies to support certain teachings? This certainly takes the cake, though I can’t say I’m surprised anymore.

  5. PapalCount says:

Lord, stop the madness. Have mercy on us. We don’t know what we’re doing.

  6. JustaSinner says:

Can we start a petition at asking Francis to retire?

  7. LarryW2LJ says:

Asking Mohamed to give a Christian a shave.

  8. PapaGregorio says:

From the program ( it appears he will not be speaking, only participating. Perhaps, this is an attempt to convert him.

  9. paladin says:

…inviting Michael Sean Winters to be moderator of the blog.

  10. acardnal says:

Amazing! And so are these two quotations from Ehrlich’s 1968 book The Population Bomb:

“The battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s, the world will undergo famines. Hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. Population control is the only answer.”

“By the year 2000 the United Kingdom will be simply a small group of impoverished islands, inhabited by some 70 million hungry people. … If I were a gambler, I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000.”

The man is obviously a brilliant scientist and prophet.

  11. Chris Garton-Zavesky says:

Asking Nancy Pelosi to teach authentic Catholic doctrine.
Asking Al Capone to run the security detail.
Asking Cecile Richards to run a Neo-natal ICU.

  12. crickally says:

It’s like asking Adolph Eichmann to be chairman of the United Jewish Appeal.

  13. JARay says:

More confirmation, if any were needed, that there is something seriously wrong permeating the Vatican.

  14. St. Louis IX says:

    Father Z
Please understand this is not so much a shot at you, but to highlight a problem.
You once had as your header if memory serves right.
{Reading Francis through Benedict} ( I did not agree with the caption)
In time I believe reality forced you to take it down.

How long must the faithful wait, before those charged with the care of souls: Speak Loudly for their care, and protection?
Father Z there is something terribly wrong in Rome , and too few Men raising the alarm.
God Bless the several that are.

    Dear Jesus Mercy

  15. xgenerationcatholic says:

Inviting Jesse James to speak about bank security.

  16. Ivan says:

… asking Cecile Richards to be godmother to your child.

  17. Traductora says:

Pretty insane. BTW, many people may not know that there’s going to be an “energy expo” in Kazakhstan (Bishop Schneider territory), since that’s an area with a lot of fossil fuels and all of its income is from development of its resources. But suddenly the Vatican has announced that it is going to have a pavilion there, with a delegation headed by Cdl Turkson, he of the Peace and Justice council, to provide its “five pillars” of energy.

Like Francis or the Vatican has even the foggiest idea about petroleum and natural gas? The last “pillar” (why are they using this Islamic imagery?) is about how all religions are united in this. However, I think this particular event is all directed at trying to marginalize Bp. Schneider, so keep your eye on it.

Still, Francis and his buddies are on a tear. It doesn’t surprise me in the least that they’re having Ehrlich – another nearly dead 70s guru that Francis has revived – to this event.

  18. Aquinas Gal says:

it’s like asking Osama bin Linden to head Homeland Security

  19. medievalist says:

Asking Bin Laden to take over in the cockpit.

Just another day at Pope Francis’s Vatican.

Henry VIII to take the Next Step ™ on behalf of the Four Cardinals.

  22. SPWang says:

It’s like asking for the organiser’s email so as all readers can send their thoughts on the matter to them.

  23. Worm-120 says:

Life sight also just started a petition against this, they only have slightly over 200 signatures.

  24. Bonaventure says:

It’s like inviting President Obama to the University of Norte Dame and giving him an honorary degree.

It’s like inviting Cecile Richard to address the students at Georgetown.

It’s like having Fr. Maciel run a vocation retreat for young men.

  25. jaykay says:

Thanks to PapaGregorio for posting the link to the programme but, yes, he is down to speak, after lunch on the first day. The blurb in the programme makes much reference to “climate change”, of course leaving out the “anthropogenic” qualifier. Because climate does, of course, change… although Prof. Ehrlich’s 40-year-old prognostications are looking a bit hoary (hah) these days. Maybe be won’t make it, though, if he gets stuck in a snowdrift in Algeria. Or wherever. I’d never have said that prostitution was an honourable profession, but in comparison to some people…

  26. rhhenry says:

It’s like asking a man who refers to parents who “breed like rabbits” to defend vigorously authentic Catholic teaching on family planning.

  27. judeberes says:

…like asking Annibale Bugnini to help you put on your maniple…

  28. Scott W. says:

It’s like having a speaker in Rivendell who thinks the Orcs have valid cultural aspirations so we should pull our forces off the Anduin, submit our differences to a peace committee chaired by Sauruman and start a Easterling Studies program at the University of Gondor.

  29. Filipino Catholic says:

It would have been better had it been the previous person to bear the name of Paul Ehrlich, the man who came up with the concept of chemotherapy (using salvarsan to treat syphilis was his idea) and who has been dead since 1915. That Ehrlich has my respect, while this new Ehrlich who advocates anti-life measures does not.

  30. Fr. Vincent Fitzpatrick says:

It’s like calling Emma Bonino (abortionist who has killed 10,000+ babies) “one of Italy’s forgotten greats.”

Go to Bing, and search for emma bonino pope francis.

  31. oledocfarmer says:

…asking Joan Crawford to host a conference on healthy parenting

  32. OldLady says:

As suggested above I googled Emma Bonino. Ugh! I have been very slow to accept that the Pope may not be who I think he is or want him to be. Who am I to judge ( seriously). But the male Margaret Sanger has no business at the Vatican presenting a paper. There was a time I thought Pope Francis was trying to highlight what needed exposure in the light of day or was stimulating discussion in Church leaders. Maybe he is trying to expose those who oppose him and promote his personal beliefs at the same time. Is this a cognitive decline or his modus operandi? Ehrlich is not the only speaker who could have presented on climate change, so the question is why him? To test the waters? Flush out conservatives or opposition? Why give an opportunity to promote a person with a platform that undermines Church teaching? The communists and their ilk have slowly over decades manipulated society in the US through social change. If what is written about him is correct, this Pope is being true to who he was in Argentina. Francis is the canary in the mine. If we don’t wake up now………

  33. Kostadinov says:

It’s like Father Z heading the Martin Luther commemorations in Germany this year ;-)

  34. PapaGregorio says:

jaykay, thanks! I missed that. Kinda buried in the details. In this age of fake news and sensationalism, it’s always good to seek out the sources. Not sure what’s going on over there, but this is bad news, like inviting Hilary to run Peter’s Pence. Not Mike Pence, but Peter’s Pence.

  35. Mary Jane says:

There’s a petition going to try to get this stopped:

    Consider adding your name!
