On the subject of Candlemass, I am planning to just say a private low Mass tlm tomorrow, no congregation (as I do every Thursday), can I just jump straight in at the Mass as normal? No blessing of candles, no procession, just Holy Mass….?

We are having an evening sung Traditional Latin Mass with a procession (weather permitting) and the blessing of candles.

In previous years Father has had the blessing before the regular morning NO Mass…this will be much grander with a professional cantor and our amateur but earnest schola. And of course, the TLM!

The Mass was even publicized in the diocesan newspaper and on Catholic radio. We are located in a rather out-of-the-way town so it will be interesting to see if very many make the trek from elsewhere. Plus a larger more conveniently located church with an amazing choir is also having a TLM for Candlemass.

It’s not a matter of “competition” though. I’m overjoyed that people in the area have a choice!
