From Matins today:
Lesson from the second letter of St. Paul the Apostle to Timothy (2 Tim 3:1-5)
Know also this, that, in the last days, shall come dangerous times.
Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,
Without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness,
Traitors, stubborn, puffed up, and lovers of pleasures more than of God:
Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.
Our Lady at Akita, Japan:
October 13, 1973
“My dear daughter, listen well to what I have to say to you. You will inform your superior.”
After a short silence:
“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests.”
“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres…churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.
“The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them”
“With courage, speak to your superior. He will know how to encourage each one of you to pray and to accomplish works of reparation.”
“It is Bishop Ito, who directs your community.”
And She smiled and then said:
“You have still something to ask? Today is the last time that I will speak to you in living voice. From now on you will obey the one sent to you and your superior.”
“Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved.”
Our Lady at Quito in 1610. Brrrrrr! Read that yourself. HERE
As these prophecies play out, my greatest hope is that we ever nearer to the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as that, too, has been prophesied. But I fear we have not seen the worst of the evil juggernaut and with the power of the blood sacrifice offered to the demons every day in abortion, the murder of one’s own child….
“I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach.”
I know there’s a correct way to interpret this, but doesn’t this on the surface sound like it places Mary above God?
Sounds like the Vatican?
@JonathanTX: God cannot place Mary above Him, but He can give her this privilege, just as He gave her the privilege to bear His Son.
Akita is the real-deal, I wrote about it my book here:
Let’s see: So the Local Bishop, Bishop Ito stood two inches from the lacrimation coming from Our Lady’s sold-wood statue (carved by a Buddhist, btw.), and hundreds of others saw it as well. An interesting side-note: the lacrimation was also broadcast live on Japanese National television. The Japanese are very smart, and if there was any trickery they would have uncovered any deception. Bishop Ito declared the site worthy of belief, as did then Cardinal Ratzinger. So, it’s an approved Marian apparition site.
Don’t we now see “bishop against bishop?” We should take it very seriously.
The debatable part of this Church approved apparition is the part about “fire will fall from the sky.” That could be an EMP either caused by the Sun, or by a hydrogen bomb detonated from above. Either way, if our grid system went down, according to Ted Koppel’s “Lights Out,” 90% of us would be dead in one year.
JonathanTX says: “I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach.” I know there’s a correct way to interpret this, but doesn’t this on the surface sound like it places Mary above God?
No. It means that only Mary’s intercession is powerful enough, because Our Lord cannot refuse anything that His Mother asks of him.
I still see conflicts here:
“It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before.”
to me seems to conflict with Gen 9:11:
“I will establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all creatures be destroyed by the waters of a flood; there shall not be another flood to devastate the earth.”
“If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them”
seems to conflict with the Divine Mercy private revelation – that mercy is extended even to the dying reprobate in extremis, with no exceptions.
Much of the text seems unexceptionable, though, especially in the light of recent events. Therefore I suspect a misunderstanding of some sort with respect to the two issues above.
Fire from the sky could mean many possible things, from nukes to volcanoes to asteroids to something miraculously terrifying with the sun. It will be apparent after it happens but I am hoping the world turns onto the road of Nineveh rather than continuing down the path to Gomorrah.
I just voted no. if you are doing the traditional Mass, the prayers ordered by Pope Leo XIII are quite enough.. BTW sites like that turn my stomach
Keep praying and doing reparation. It is a known phenomenon that a bad behavior always gets a LOT worse before being eradicated, so do not lose heart, when things get worse, rejoice and pray harder!
God bless and protect the orthodox Faithful and keep them praying.
Father: I would very much like to read your fuller thoughts on the Akita apparitions. Clearly your quotation above indicates belief. But there seems to be a lot of controversy about them.
What ever happened to Sister Agnes? I would imagine she’s still alive o.o
