Your Sunday Sermon Notes – 12th Sunday after Pentecost (N.O.: 19th) 2024

Too many people today are without good, strong preaching, to the detriment of all. Share the good stuff.

Was there a GOOD point made in the sermon you heard at your Mass of obligation for this 12th Sunday after Pentecost, or the 19th Sunday of Ordinary Time?

Tell about attendance especially for the Traditional Latin Mass.

Any local changes or (hopefully good) news?

A couple thoughts about the sign of the cross: HERE  A taste…

[…]

To summarize, Christ, who when His public ministry began had been tempted by Satan (Luke 4:1-13, etc.), and who had just said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18), was goaded by a lawyer, whom Christ brought down to earth.

What can we take from this?

The pastor’s message in this week’s bulletin was entitled “Reparations for Abominations Against the Sacred Heart”, a brief but thunderous denunciation of the blasphemy of the Olympic opening ceremony, the evil behind it and what we should do.

Traveling so attended mass at a gorgeous church St. John Baptist in Brunswick ME.

In the world the focus is on having things our way, the classic example being Burger King where we can have it any way we want. Instead we should be asking what is God’s way and what he wants of us. In the Church we are fortunate to have scripture and Church teaching in the Catechism to help us to know God’s will. And we have the Eucharist.

  3. Irish Timothy says:

Father in his homily said ‘We must be in the state of grace to receive the Eucharist’

    Perfect!
