Getting things wrong and then getting it right

I thought you all might like to know about this, posted by Fishwrap.

Fishwrap chose to use a photo of Bp. Baron for this.

So, Jesus “got it wrong”.

Along with that…

It’s as if the first commission on deaconettes never took place (i.e., no evidence for female deacons).   As one in a text group I am in remarked, “It’s like California: the election was three weeks ago and they’re still counting votes!” So, Phoebe was Paul’s FedEx guy. Called “a servant” (Greek diákonon), she is claimed by some to have been sacramentally ordained.  Paul also called Phoebe his “sister”. I strongly suspect that – being a Corinthian – she was not really Paul’s sister, in a literal sense. The term “sister” was used by Paul, as it is today, analogously. So, too, “deacon/servant”. She was really helpful in the community, probably wealthy, and a good person to deliver some mail.

Moving on to more interesting stuff from the internet…

And, for your Thanksgiving Day entertainment…

The problem with giving “the people” a greater voice is that the people who think they are the people are the ones who would try to push the Church over a cliff and shrug after seeing the burning wreckage below: “the people should have had more of a say.”

Hmm…greater lay voice in selecting bishops. Apparently, they have forgotten their church history; we have already been through the lay investiture controversy where secular authorities interfered with the selection of bishops causing many unfit men to be appointed bishops. The church ultimately rejected this. Why would we want to go through that again?

Restore the Mass! When our liturgy is a Holy Sacrifice from the first sign of the Cross to the last, it is clear that the priest is “in persona Christi”. It is Jesus sacrificing for His Bride, the Church. We, the Church, are the Bride of Christ. We all know a woman cannot marry a woman, therefore the priest must be male. All the servers are male. Period.

That does not make women less. Women have roles that men cannot fulfill. The highest creature God ever made is a woman. Try to imitate God’s greatest creation if you are struggling with your place as a woman. She will help you.

Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, pray for us! We beg your Spouse to send us the graces needed to fight enemy and clear our brains of so much rot that has infiltrated the Church.

May we be One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic – restore the Mass of Ages.
    One – does not change
Holy – not of this world
Catholic – not following the Protestant calendar and Protestant theology
Apostolic- traces back to the Apostles

Time to get up from The Table and go to The Cross!

Question – Could we simply use the 1962 missal and if the priest has not learned Latin, he follow it in the vernacular – the right-hand pages, not the left? The words and theology are Catholic.

Personally I believe that if a priest wants to learn the Latin Mass, our Blessed Mother will send tremendous graces to miraculously restore the sacred. She told the venerable Mother of Agreda that the Holy Ghost is as available to us today as He was at Pentecost. Let that sink in.
All we have to do is be in a state of grace and ASK.

God will not be outdone in generosity. We pray and sacrifice for the restoration of the Holy Church and He will bless it abundantly.

So get to confession! May your prayers be heard.
    Viva Christo Rey!

Happy Friday after Thanksgiving! Enjoy your meat today – turkey, sausage and crab legs if you have it

Tell the NCR not to worry. It’s all been taken care of. Xi Jinping is already choosing bishops in China and he’s clearly only a layman. And not even a Catholic. Or a Christian. Or even a Theist. Yessiree, we got democracy comin’ out our ears.

  6. KathyL says:

To say “Jesus got it wrong” is heresy and denies the divinity of Christ. How easily it seems these modernists insult Our Lord to advance their agenda.

The more irrelevant Fr. Reeses pieces becomes, the more absurd are his words in trying to be relevant- why is it that the Jebs always think they have all the answers to everything??
