For the chess position – after bf1!!, black has two checkmate threats – Qg1# and Nxf3#. The only way for white to defend both of them is to give away all their pieces (i.e. Nxf1 Nxf3+ Qxf3 Qxf3). White gives away a rook and a queen for a bishop and not getting mated, but mate is likely coming soon after anyway.
The obvious threat is Q-g2#, because White’s king is powerless against Black’s queen, which is protected by Black’s newly installed bishop.
Aha!, says White. Just get rid of that pesky bishop, which is attacked three times and protected only once.
But White’s irrational exuberance encounters crowded reality when White plays N×f3#
Yes, White can postpone its fate with checks (i) by its rook and then (ii) by its queen, but Black’s mating net remains intact.
Father Z, As Catholic parishes around the world start Perpetual Adoration, to conclude when the Conclave ends, what would it take for the Cardinals to join in the Adoration? Is The Parish able to have Adoration 24/7?

The sign on trash reminded me that when scientists wanted to learn about daily life in ancient, prehistoric villages, they located and went through their trash piles usually located just outside the village. Apparently, modern man hasn’t progressed as far from ancient man as people might think.
