Vince Guaraldi was the brilliant composer and pianist behind the Peanuts cartoons.
It was quite controversial to use modern jazz in a kid's cartoon, networks hated it, but introduced many kids to jazz.

Thanks for the Guaraldi nod. If you dig into his life, it is clear that he did not always lead a virtuous life, but he had a Catholic Funeral and was buried in a Catholic cemetery. If I ever get to San Francisco, I hope to visit his gravesite and pray for him. He performed and recorded at the Episcopal Cathedral music that incorporated parts of the Mass in a jazz style including the Gloria, Agnus Dei, Adore Devote. The title of the album is called At Grace Cathedral. It is, by far, not my favorite Guaraldi composition.
