NEWS: Bishop Michael Sis of San Angelo expands the Traditional Latin Mass in his diocese.
The Mass according to the 1962 Missal will be offered beginning Sunday 30 August, and thereafter on the last Sunday of each month at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland at 3 p.m.

+Sis was pastor at Texas A&M and left just before I got there. However, +Konderla (another of the good ones, currently of Diocese of Tulsa) was pastor. If ever you want to see a secular university with an incredible Catholic community and presence, take a look at Texas A&M. Many vocations come out of there, and they just finished building a couple years ago an incredible Neo-Byzantine style church. It’s huge… almost worth visiting College Station, TX just to see it.
Like RichR and OKC dad, Sis arrived in 1992 and talked me into being head usher at the 5:30 PM Sunday evening Mass. Had I not met him or Fr. Dean Wilhelm, I might have become an Episcopalian or an Evangelical. Not only was I a retread student, I was a one hour Catholic who grew up during the confusion of the 1970s and 1980s. I was the head usher at the 5:30 PM Mass for two years until I graduated. I paid my own way for my degree and got my return on the investment.
RichR was probably there after I graduated. I think now Bishop Sis was at Texas A&M until about 2005 when he was moved to the chancery in Austin. I will say quite a few good holy Catholic marriages came from St. Mary’s in College Station.

Concerning crime, someone from the Houston Police Officers Association ran an advertisement in New York City days after the mayor’s race saying something along the lines of move to Houston we want you. It’s disappointing several large cities aren’t actively trying to take a bite out of crime.
