14 Sept: Patton, PA - annivesary TLM

CATEGORY: SESSIUNCULA — Fr. John Zuhlsdorf @ 10:45 am

    From a reader:

This Sunday (Sept 14) at 1 PM, a Traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church in Patton in honor of the 1-year anniversary of the institution of Summorum Pontificum, the Apostolic Letter of Pope Benedict XVI which has granted greater freedom to priests who wish to celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass and the Faithful who wish access to it. The High Mass this Sunday will be celebrated in solemn form, with full schola chanting the prayers and the celebrant assisted by Master of Ceremonies, thurifer, acolytes, and torchbearers.

Mass will be followed by Benediction and the special Benedictine blessing of St. Maurus.

Immediately after, a picnic will be held at the pavilions behind the church hall. All are invited to attend. It is not necessary to bring anything to the picnic, but those wishing to contribute a side dish are welcome to do so.  If you are planning to attend, please reply to this email and let us know how many adults and children will be coming, so that we will know how much food to prepare.

Let us remember to pray to Our Blessed Lord on this anniversary, thanking him for the tremendous gift of the ancient Mass and asking him to bless Our Holy Father Benedict XVI with holiness and good health for many years to come.
