“This blog is like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” – Fr. Z

Ad Multos Annos, Holy Father!!!
Glorious St. Joseph, protector of the universal church, watch over and guide our Holy Father and all of us who have the name of Joseph. Amen.
Best wishes to the Holy Father on his name
day and in memory of my uncle Joseph, a faithful
Catholic who lived his life as did St. Joseph.
My son, Joseph Maximilian, has requested a cake in the shape of a train for his feast day. Surely St. Joseph is smiling.
Also best wishes from me to our dear Holy Father!
and St. Joseph is also the Patron Saint of China too.
By the way, the SSPX in Switzland is promoting the principle of the Hermeneutic of Continuity.
They write a long comment on the doctrinal discussion over the Second Vaticanum. It seems to me quite conciliar.

But I would be very interested to see what Father Zuhlsdorf says about it.
(But I do hope I am not posting something which Fr. Z. already discussed. )
St. Joseph is co-patron with St. Patrick of the Sacramento, CA, Diocese. St. Stephen’s will have Solemn High Mass at 7pm tonight. He is also St. Stephen’s special patron to whom we give thanks for his intercessions and protection in the building up of the parish. I asked him to be patron and foster father of my family many long years ago and keep him dear to my heart.
May God bless our Holy Father with long life, good health, every consolation, and great success in his endeavors.
Thanks, Father. Happy St Joseph’s Day to all!
Thanks for the reminder. I started a novena to St. Joseph today and I will include the Holy Father with my other intention.
Long live the Pope, and happy name day!
Thank you,Father. Happy St. Joseph’s Day to all, especially the Holy Father and all who bear the beautiful name of Joseph.
There is no better, kinder father than St. Joseph. Everybody, including such different people as St Teresa of Avila and Dorothy Day, knows that the first thing to do is ite ad Ioseph.
I attended and sang at some festivities for a local order of the Sisters of St. Joseph today. They “modernized” and are not doing well, but St Joseph can and will help them if they let him. My prayers today are for them – and, of course, for my favorite Joseph right now, our Holy Father.
My late Mother (a Josephine and devout Catholic) used to celebrate name day with the making of some home made Zeppole. My middle name is Joseph in her honor, and she always said we celebrated St Joseph’s Feast together. They are memories of her that I cherish.
As fate would have it, when I was praying over a year ago for a ray of hope in my Traditional wasteland of Middle Georgia, it was the Parish of St Joseph that succored me with a faithful and traditional Pastor, and a monthly Missa Cantata, and weekly low mass.
Yes indeed, I have many many reasons to celebrate the feast of St Joseph.
I love you Mom. Keep praying for me, as I do you.
That’s my name, too.
I had the privilege of visiting St Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal yesterday. It was full of people of all languages and hues, praying piusly. I even heard some French!
I know it’s a day late-but Happy St. Joseph’s Day to our Papa!
Joe-you went to St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal yesterday? Ooooo-I’m jealous!
best wishes
And happy Saint Benedict Day today.
