The DNC’s agenda: abortion… abortion… abortion… more abortion…

A reader alerted me to this from LifeNews:

MSNBC Host: “Get Your Abortions Now In Case Republicans Win”
by Steven Ertelt |

Touré Neblett, a co-host of The Cycle on MSNBC, is garnering criticism from pro-life advocates today after sending out a re-tweet on Twitter encouraging women to get abortions in case Mitt Romney defeats President Barack Obama in November.

“Girls, get your abortions NOW in case the Republicans win,” the re-tweeted message said.

Classy guy!

What a lovely agenda these liberals have.

  1. “Kill your offspring quick before people who love them for their objective worth try to instill moral sense into the nation and limit or ban abortion in some cases.”

  2. acardnal says:

There was a report on CNN (which I briefly paused on during my channel surfing) that said the Democrats edited one of their platform planks today to omit the word “God” in the phrase “God-given potential.”

  3. Sissy says:

Democrat girls should probably try to get pregnant right away so they can experience an abortion before the cruel Republicans take it all away.

  4. Supertradmum says:

Edited tweet. Murder as many babies as you can now before the GOP makes it harder.

Abortion as a term needs to be replaced by Catholics as baby-murder, person in the womb murder.

  5. Jean Marie says:

Just twisted people. Obama is the president of “depraved America” and it’s for all the world to see at this convention. It’s like peering through a window into Hell. Sweet Jesus, please may this man’s evil regime come to an end.

  6. chantgirl says:

Sissy- my thoughts exactly. “Go get all the action you can, have an abortion, and then maybe get sterilized too. Oh, and throw some condoms at school children before all the abstinence brainwashing starts.”

  7. Makemeaspark says:

But be encouraged, because no one seemed to attend Planned Parenthood’s rally at the DNC

    http://www.examiner.com/article/dnc-planned-parenthood-holds-rally-but-no-one-attends

  8. Papabile says:

“Abortion is an intensely personal decision between a woman, her family, her doctor, and her clergy; there is no place for politicians or government to get in the way.” (2012 Democratic Platform)

The strange thing is, this sentence is nowhere to be found in the 2008 platform….. somehow clergy made it in, and God was excised.

  9. Sissy says:

Papabile: by “clergy”, they mean “Planned Parenthood votaries”.

  10. acardnal says:

Papabile quoted a plank of the 2012 Democratic Party Platform:
“Abortion is an intensely personal decision between a woman, her family, her doctor, and her clergy; there is no place for politicians or government to get in the way.” (2012 Democratic Platform)

They always, always, always forget the innocent and weak person in the womb. God help us!

  11. The Cobbler says:

    Her kid isn’t family?

What about the old insistence that the father has no say in the matter? Is he not family either?

What about the opposition to parental notification laws? Are her parents not her family either?

So… family doesn’t mean parents, doesn’t mean spouse, doesn’t mean children… I guess it’s between her and her siblings??

Similarly, how the heck does the clergy bit jive with the insistence that no church should stand against it? Or when a Church actually mandates something is that considered a form of government?

Of course, given the original post, I shouldn’t be surprised that critical thinking doesn’t go with the platform.

  12. JKnott says:

This country is undergoing a civil war. And one with dire consequences if the party of death succeeds.
    I was thinking about Lepanto.
Even with a strong commitment to persevering prayer, I think that this dire situation calls each and every person of good will to more; to go above and beyond and to begin storming heaven prostrate with sack cloth and ashes, in a posture of personal repentance for whatever failings and imperfections we can find in ourselves and in reparation for others, and then just pray, fast and sacrifice our heart out like Mordecai did for the survival of the Jews as Ruth was going before the King, and like Judith did, who before she donned the beautiful apparel with which she would seduce the enemy into a decapitated state. And what about Nineveh? We are so blessed with the sacrament of Confession. Confession every week until this enemy of life is defeated! How else can we ask Him to bless our country as the democrats gather to expel Him from their midst and sadly seem proud to be drunk with the blood of the innocent. Our Lord loves us and is pleased with sack cloth and ashes. How can he refuse …..through Mary?

  13. jflare says:

So..if Romney/Ryan win, that means the Democrats will generally cease having sex. Right?

Hmm. Considering how we’ve already witnessed the death of some 35 to 39 million people in a “sterile” environment–in theory at least–I wonder if the number of deaths of women will rise afterward. We’ve constantly been warned that abortion needed to be legal so it’d be safe, for the mother in particular.

If the number of back-alley abortions rises due to being declared illegal, I wonder how the medical profession–or the coroner–will cite the cause of death….

  14. PostCatholic says:

Wow, we’re having a civil war? I didn’t realize we’d got so far in our disagreements that the unrest has led us to shoot at our opponents. Sure, there’s the occasional nutbar like the clinic bombers or the dude who tried to disrupt a prayer breakfast in DC last month by shooting a security guard, and that’s a very bad thing. But I thought those sorts of people were just the lunatic fringe! They’re the John Browns? I really should pay more attention.

We’re going to need a lot more tinsmith milliners, I think! I’ll buy some more stock in the military industrial complex tomorrow and get profiteer on the uniforms! Though, how weird that my Alcoa stock closed down today…

  15. jflare says:

PS. Cobbler, I don’t think many people, especially on this blog, would suggest that the abortion advocacy side truly makes sense. They never did.

  16. Sissy says:

jflare, where did you get the idea that abortions are being carried out in a “sterile” environment? The lack of regulation mandated by Roe meant no requirement to follow state regulations governing other medical procedures. No regulation means NO regulation. This sorry situation is only now being remedied by state laws requiring added abortion clinics meet the same standards as other medical facilities. “Back alley abortions” became “store front abortions” after Roe, but the standards didn’t change one iota. There is a reason the murderers are called “abortion providers” and not “doctors”.

  17. Makemeaspark says:

My question is, since abortion is Illegal in Ireland are women dying there because of the so-called back alley abortions?

  18. SonofMonica says:

The Democratic Party is a death cult. By any measure.

  19. Therese says:

Wow, makemespark, that PP rally article you linked is like the foreshadowing of a dream: that one day soon the abortion mills will open their doors AND NO ONE WILL COME.

  20. jflare says:

    Sissy,
I did say “in theory” for a reason.
Any abortion provider who wants to remain in business must ensure that they don’t offend the sensibilities of neighbors and/or passers-by too greatly. They can’t look or smell too much like Auschwitz or a beef slaughterhouse; if they do, someone will start asking discomfitting questions.
In this case, I refer to “sterile” in the sense that a provider will follow some semblance of medical protocol related to ensuring that the woman or girl involved doesn’t die on the table.
I have been horrified in recent years by reports I’ve heard about various advocates actually working to change laws so that abortion “clinics” will not be required to even live up to basic medical care standards. Not only will they not require providers to even show a woman an ultrasound without a stiff fight, but apparently they don’t even wish for the state to ever inspect the facility.

I DO refer to “sterile” rather tongue in cheek in this case!

    PostCatholic,
    I find your comment..typical.
I’d remind that you we need not end a man’s physical life to end his influence on the world. We need only incapacitate his soul and spirit.
Various “progressive” factions have been set about to accomplish the latter for quite some time.

  21. Mariana says:

Like you said in the your post before this one, Father, Maranatha!

  22. dominic1955 says:

The whole “back alley abortion” thing is a hysterical polemics device. Someone who would intentionally let that be done to them or do it themselves has all sorts of problems that “legalized” abortion sure as heck isn’t going to fix.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the title, but there was a book I picked up a little while ago that documented (as in, with reference to legal cases, newspaper articles and other objective and verifiable sources) all sorts of cases of botched abortions, sexual abuse in clinics and other wholly awful things. It seems that these places are beyond unsavory, let alone morally abhorent. If tatoo parlors had even a fraction of the sorts of problems that abortuaries seem to wallow in, they’d be shut down in no time flat.

The Philistines and their altars to Baal have nothing on the good ol’ U. S. A…

  23. Sissy says:

dominic1955 said: “The whole “back alley abortion” thing is a hysterical polemics device.”

Precisely so, dominic1955. The abortion mills aren’t even required to report the deaths or injuries; the CDC admits that they have no idea what the rate of injury and death from abortion is. The closest we get are numbers provided by PP themselves; what they are willing to admit is that legal abortion causes death at about the same rate as maternal deaths – about 1:16,000. Do the math – with a million abortions a year, that’s a lot of women dying from “safe” abortions. This does not take into account women who are maimed, made sterile, and left with a host of physical and mental issues to contend with. And the very real abortion-breast cancer link has been criminally covered up consistently by pro-death advocates. This “back alley” hooey is just propaganda.

  24. dominic1955 says:

It was one of those bleedin’-heart nonsense things the agitators grabbed on to in order to cow the opposition into submission. Some of that kind of thing happens, but again, what should one expect when they are willing to do such an abhorent thing with such obviously unsafe methods? Its like being shocked when someone blows their head off with a gun and then using that as an excuse to usher in assisted-suicide. Should anyone be surprised that putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger will result in something bad? Does making the same basic thing (suicide) happen in a slightly less vulgar way make it any better?

Its a favorite tactic of leftists-grab an “unassailable” moral high ground that no one could possibly be against or in favor of, depending on what it is. Really, its along the same lines as the old loaded language fallacy. Note how some of the leftists coutch the issue of abortion as some nonsense “war on women” when it has nothing whatsoever to do with a supposed advocacy against a gender.

  25. The whole back alley thing is really irritating. any abortion – wherever it is done – back alley or posh clinic in Beverly Hills – is not good for women. The abortion doesn’t have to leave the mother dead on the table – a part of her is dead forever. Doesn’t really matter where or how – what matters is that it was done at all. I had a “safe and legal” abortion – still feels like I was in a back alley being ripped apart. I may have to unplug until after this stupid election.

  26. wmeyer says:

Sissy said: “jflare, where did you get the idea that abortions are being carried out in a “sterile” environment?”

And if not, then how is this different from the back alley they love to talk about?

  27. Sissy says:

“I may have to unplug until after this stupid election.”

Infinite Grace: probably a good idea. I know it must be so painful for you to endure the depraved display of the DNC endorsement of this monstrous attack on women and their children. I’m praying for your peace right now.

  28. onearmsteve says:

You see this video exposing them some more? http://youtu.be/xwejQBIyjow

  29. You’ve got that right. I’m not quite sure enough of myself to talk openly and defend my beliefs just yet. Just tonight someone told me how they were crying over how moving Michelle Obama’s speech was. I can’t handle it. If they only knew.

    - The term ‘civil war’ can also mean non-violent dissent between groups of people. An exaggeration yes, but an apt one to describe the sever divide and schism that exists and the high tension.

But don’t worry, at the rate things are going the col civil war can indeed erupt into a hot civil war. This is after all what Armageddon is… when two sides get so polarized that the only option remaining is to permanently divide, except with no place to go the next best option is to destroy the other.

Ever wonder why the American Department of Homeland Security is buying insane amounts of ammunition and lethal weaponry, and why the armed forces are practicing drilled maneuvers in many areas of the country and who all those empty prison facilities are being built to house, or why successive Presidents have granted themselves even more encroaching powers to seize facilities, land and resources and by fiat execute American citizens without trial and be granted privileges of executive decisions to never justify such actions and hide material?

Do you think the Government is spending all that money and resources out of paranoia? Or are you the only one oblivious as to where things are headed?

  32. Random Friar says:

CNN was reporting that the religious sister slated to speak at the DNC would not speak unless she could give voice to her “anti-abortion” views.

Somehow, I’m not quite buying it. “Anti-abortion” will most likely devolve to the usual “more healthcare to prevent abortions,” rather than, say, not funding abortions.

  33. jflare says:

    Johnno,
If you’re implying that we’re headed toward an open, shooting, civil war..well, I hope it won’t pan out that way, but I’ll admit things don’t look so good right now. We’ve become more and more divided on key issues for several decades now.

I have been wondering now for some 10 years about how long the ties that bind us could still stand.
I fear we’re very close to irreconcilable difference that can’t be decided by negotiation.

God grant that something may happen to stave off bloodshed.
If we devolve that far, it’s liable to be exceedingly ugly.
