Religion of Peace to USA: “We will drown all of you in blood”

I saw this from Reuters:

Islamic State message to America: ‘we will drown all of you in blood’

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – The Islamic State militant group that has seized large parts of Iraq and drawn the first American air strikes since the end of the occupation in 2011 has warned the United States it will attack Americans “in any place” if the raids hit its militants.

The video, which shows a photograph of an American who was beheaded during the U.S. occupation of Iraq and victims of snipers, featured a statement which said in English “we will drown all of you in blood”.

U.S. airstrikes in northern Iraq have helped Kurdish fighters take back some territory captured by Islamic State militants, who have threatened to march on Baghdad.

The latest advance by the Islamic State, an al Qaeda offshoot, sent tens of thousands of members of the Yazidi ethnic minority and Christians fleeing for their lives and alarmed the Baghdad government and its Western allies.

Unlike al-Qaeda, Islamic State has so far focused on seizing land in Iraq and Syria for its self-proclaimed caliphate, not spectacular attacks on Western targets.

U.S. President Barack Obama said at a news conference on Monday that the Islamic State posed a threat to Iraq and the entire region.

(The story was refiled to correct the third paragraph to remove reference to airstrikes on Kurdish fighters)

“I have lost my Diocese to Islam – You in the West will also become the victims of Muslims”
    Archbishop Amel Nona
Chaldean Catholic Archeparch of Mosul, now exiled in Erbil

    A prophetic statement.

Further: “Your liberal and democratic principles are worth nothing here. You must consider again our reality in the Middle East, because you are welcoming in your countries an ever growing number of Muslims. Also you are in danger….Your values are not their values. If you do not understand this soon enough, you will become the victims of the enemy you have welcomed in your home.”

Quotes above are from an article in “Corriere della Sera” as quoted at the Rorate blog site and can be read below. . . and it should be read by all those living in the West:

Absolutely perfect time to have our 2nd Amendment rights watered down or eliminated. Dont’cha think?

  3. Grateful to be Catholic says:

Thank God that some of the local bishops are speaking up about what this is really all about and that it is soon going to be on our doorstep. Perhaps it is time to stop talking about the limits on responses imposed by just war theory and start talking about what constitutes aggression that must be stopped. The stated intent to attack coupled with the means to do it already constitutes aggression. ISIS has that now.

Religious leaders have to be clear about the responsibility of governments to protect their citizens. They don’t have the right to turn the other cheek.

Seems to me it’s only been since about the turn of the millennium that the term militant has become a politically correct euphemism for people who seize any justification, or none at all, to terrorize the inhabitants of the nations and regions over which they seek or hold control.

I await the day when Reuters et al. re-label the first phase of the French Revolution as the Reign of Militancy.

My nephew shared a video on Facebook of mass killings. I have no idea where this was…all shouting was probably in Arabic, as well as the writing on the flag. I stopped watching and then made myself go back…near the end there was the image of a concrete pad running with blood (and I won’t elaborate on that). That’s what the title of this post reminds me of.

We are at a point where I don’t trust what I see in the media. I have no idea if this video was an actual happening…but how could they fake it? What kind of creature would make a movie of such inhuman activity?

Well, I guess it would be someone who wants to broadcast the message that they will drown us in blood. Could these murderers be worse than the Nazis?

    You betcha…

  6. incredulous says:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

By now many people are hearing about the beheading of an American journalist, a former resident of Boston, by ISIS. The video has reportedly been pulled from YouTube. Comments about it are here: http://twitchy.com/2014/08/19/evil-straight-from-the-pits-of-hell-american-journalist-james-foley-reportedly-beheaded-by-isis/
The jihadists paraded a TIME reporter and have threatened his life as well.
    Prayers are most definitely required.

  8. Priam1184 says:

Oh nobody is going to like what I’m about to say but what the hell: how can a country whose government, culture, and society all rabidly promote the murder of children by their own mothers in their own wombs by the million consider itself the arbiter of civilized behavior?

THAT WAS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF ISIS OR OF ITS BEHAVIOR.

  9. Dienekes says:

“Oh nobody is going to like what I’m about to say but what the hell: how can a country whose government, culture, and society all rabidly promote the murder of children by their own mothers in their own wombs by the million consider itself the arbiter of civilized behavior?”

You’ll get no argument from me. If possible, the murder of unborn children is even more horrific. And–I suspect God looks at it that way too.

None so blind as those who will not see.

  10. KM Edwards says:

The practical steps we need to lobby for within the Church are:
    1. Re-vitalize the Tradition of praying that souls be liberated from the “darkness of Islamism”
    2. Stop talking about “walking side by side” and not trying to proselytize Muslims. We can tactfully engage in dialogue while calling out to the illogic in the Kuran – respecting the discipline hundreds of millions of Muslims demonstrate during their annual Ramadan fast, and being thankful that many of them do not practice the religious teachings of the Kuran to the max – the key area in dialogue has to be around their belief in the Virgin Birth of Christ. If Jesus had NO human father, as the Kuran acknowledges, and His mother remained truly a Virgin, and yet, Jesus was Holy, as the Kuran acclaims, He can have NO Father except God Himself. Logic dictates this. And if Jesus had NO father but God, why deny Him the Honor of the Title ‘Son of God’? We each need to engage every friendly Muslim we meet – who appears willing to engage in religious discussions- at work, in community and social gatherings this logical flow. To deny Jesus the title while acknowledging that His father was not human or angelic and therefore Divine is to deny logic itself.
    3. Remember Our Lady of Fatima – Fatima was a Muslim princess who converted to the Faith for love of her prince – Bishop Fulton Sheen believed that Our Lady’s appearance at Fatima hinted at a future conversion of this Arian-esque religion.
    4. Our bishops and priests need to stop lending Churches for Islamic use and need to stop pronouncing wonderful “Eid” messages – the general Islamic sense to this is a whiff of the defeated currying favour with the victor. Just like running away from a rabid dog only incenses the dog to come after you. Stand up for our Churches and don’t congratulate Muslims on Eid – what’s to congratulate anyways?

  11. KM Edwards says:

The practical steps we need to take with our politicians – POTUS, Senate, Congress, Prime Ministers, MPs and MPPs:
    1. Urge an expedited definition of these extreme sects within Islam and illegalize them, preventing entry into the US of any visitor who espouses these religious views. The premise is that these extreme sects are Nazi in ideology, and should not be permitted on the homeland or its embassies. Yes, this would mean that there is not 100% “freedom of religion”, but since these are nazi ideologies it should be straightforward even for pluralists to accept this approach.
    2. Reach out to the majority practitioners of Islam in the US, Canada and the West – who thankfully do not take the Kuran for its explicit word on these extreme practices – to expel and condemn these extreme views, and to promote collaboration with law enforcement for the weeding out of these extremists from their mosque-communities.
    3. Encourage the arming and training of Chaldeans, Yazidis, Shia Turkmen and other minorities in Iraq to give them the leverage they need to fight in their own self-defense.
    4. Support the move of the millions of Catholic refugees in Syria and Iraq back to their ancient homelands and coerce/encourage the Iraqi Shiite regime in Baghdad to give them a greater political autonomy and self-determination within the new nation of Iraq. A stronger Christian political force in Iraq and Syria will be truly amazing for our allies in the region, especially Israel and Jordan.

  12. Magash says:

I must point out that the article is not correct in its characterization of al-Qaeda. al-Qaeda was first formed with the intent of over throwing the Saudi Government and forming an even more radical Islamic State from the already radical Saudi Arabian nation. Their contention was that the Wahhabi movement is not extreme enough. And of course bin Laden desired to rule Saudi Arabia himself. A world wide Caliphate was always their goal, they just haven’t been as successful at it as ISIS.
One problem with appealing to “moderate” Muslims is that there is in reality no such thing. There are apostate Muslims, who are willing to live and work with non-Muslims without desiring to convert them. There are patient Muslims who will wait until societal conditions become conducive for the establishment of the Caliphate. There are militant Muslims who are actively working for the establishment of the Caliphate. The second group encompasses almost all of the Muslims living in Western society. They are willing to bide their time and take no overt action. If they become a majority in any area they will press, through democratic means, for the establishment of Sharia Law, at which time democratic means will cease to exist in that area.
Those Muslims who speak out against ISIS, as some are starting to do, are speaking out because ISIS is threatening other Muslims, primarily those who do not share their Sunni Muslim faith, and because their overt violent actions against civilian populations might result in a backlash by Western governments. In other words not because they are performing those acts, but because the media and propaganda being generated may inhibit the progress other Muslims are making in deluding the West about Islam’s long term goals.
Hence their actions against reporters specifically. I heard in an interview with Foley’s editor today that one of the conditions of the reporter’s continued health was the suppression of news about all of the reporters being held by ISIS. There are at least three more. Foley was held for two years, without almost any media coverage of the event. What other news is being suppressed or hidden as a result of reporter’s fears of retaliation by this group?
Most of ISIS’s most horrendous acts have been self-revealed. IF they learn to control the narrative better what might they do out of sight of the Western Media. The lack of coverage of Christian persecution is telling. Note that the refugees most mentioned in the news are not Christians but Yazidis, who are Zoroastrians. No doubt their plight is dire, but the killing of Christians and their forced migration from their homes has garnered much less media coverage.
