REMINDER: CD of music for Advent by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles

Click

Do you remember there is an album of Advent music available?  The wonderful Benedictine Nuns in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph provide it.

Here are a few little samples.

It is still available!

There are zillions of Christmas music offerings out there.  Advent?  Not so much.

This disk can help you keep Advent as Advent.

The UK link is HERE and Canada HERE.

A beautiful CD, and high quality recording. Can’t go wrong with it.

I second what DavidR said. Last week I (somewhat prematurely) put this disc plus the first half of Handel’s Messiah into my car’s CD player to listen to on my travels.

Zillions? Is this the “gravitational pull” of the estimable Sr. Vassa? Or is this just Yankee dialect for “myriads”?

I third what DavidR said. Beautiful voices, beautiful music, beautiful production. I especially like that it’s great for ‘active’ and ‘passive’ listening. By that I mean that all the selections are good for actually concentrating on and listening to like a concert, but you can also just leave it on as background music and let it play continuously and it doesn’t get annoying after awhile.

Also, it has what is currently my favorite version of ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel’.

I have been looking for something just like this! It is a beautiful way to share advent with my little girls. Thank you!

We picked this up last year – it’s absolutely fabulous, and of course your money goes to support a wonderful group of religious.

I began playing this CD in my car yesterday and remembered that I never tired of these beautiful songs last December. Also inspiring is Christmas in Harvard Square, Latin hymns and Christmas hymns and songs rendered by the Boys of St. Paul’s Choir School with resounding organ accompaniment. A feature on EWTN’s The World Over introduced me to this effort. Running errands can be a very peaceful endeavor when these CD’s are on the journey.
