CHICAGO: Chinese Food Edition

Where I am, near the Steam Pipe Trunk Distribution Venue, there is no good Chinese food. It is a hardship.

So, when I get to Chicago, I really enjoy finding some good Chinese fare at what must be one of the best restaurants in the country. It is the best I’ve had in these USA.

We started with some cabbage pickled in really hot stuff as we looked over the menu and discussed our options.

Ma Po Tofu.  Best. I’ve. Ever. Had.

Nooooooodles!

Tony’s Chicken.  I don’t know, but it is really good.

I don’t know how I missed a photo of the San Bei Ji, but I did.

Eggplant in garlic sauce.

At the end, an actual fortune!

We did justice to all the dishes but there were some leftovers.

No fortune cookies here, but my wife’s hand-made noodles are pretty special, and her ma po tofu, as well. I also enjoy her eggplant in garlic sauce, but my favorites are her dumplings (hand-made skins) and her red-cooked pork.
