Did you vote early? Have you changed your mind?

Did you vote early? Have you changed your mind?

There are states where you can change your early vote!

MI, PA, WI, NY, CT, MS

As for me, I shall vote on Election Day.

Moreover, I would vote for the corpse of Millard Fillmore to keep the Party of Death anti-Catholic, 2nd Amendment-hating, open-boarder criminal out of the White House.

Yes I early voted (which is popular this election, I have a pretty impressive picture of a line). I have not changed my mind about my vote, which was for Trump (partly due to restrictive ballot access laws). I also haven’t changed my mind about having some trepidation about a Trump administration, but time will tell whether the forces that elevated him had good reason or were every bit as insane as they looked.

  2. jjbulano says:

FYI — In Colorado, you may be able to change your vote/ballot: If you have not mailed it in, you can cross out the choice you don’t want, and circle the one you do want and write “I’m voting for this one”; you can also get a replacement ballot by going to a polling center. If you have already mailed in your ballot, it will depend on whether the clerk has received it yet or not. You can check by going to govotecolorado.com and check your status. If it hasn’t been received, you can get a replacement ballot or vote in person. They will count whichever comes in first.

  5. Gregg the Obscure says:

Voted last Thursday so even if I pass away before Tuesday, my vote for Darrell Castle of the Constitution Party will be counted along with my “no” votes on the raft of ballot questions which range from silly to satanic. While Castle is more accommodating to cultural rot than I would prefer, he’s less accommodating to it than any other candidate on the ballot.

I voted three weeks ago. A straight ticket because try as I did I could not find one single ‘r’ worthy of my vote. No, there is nothing that I would want to change. I keep going back and forth on the local school district issue but I’m pretty sure I did the right thing. The hardest people to get info on were the state school board candidates, but after a while I figured out who the good ones were vs. the stealth evangelical zealots.

  7. SKAY says:

I have not voted yet but I certainly will not vote for the very corrupt pro abortion Hillary Clinton
nor will I vote for any Democrat running in my state. I actually used to be a Democrat but thankfully realized how completely depraved they were becoming. I could not be a Pelosi catholic.
Interesting how Catholics voting for Hillary are asking for government control of religious speech and Planned Parenthood funding/expansion not to mention complete government corruption as all of the various sources of released emails are proving as well as the reopening of the FBI investigation. That would include her SCOTUS choices.
I will be voting where my vote will count and not help Hillary/Soros complete what Obama/Soros started. Remember she said in a “private speech” that you have to have both a public policy and a private policy that is what she really intends to do.

  8. The Wife and I voted early, voted Trump, and are still very happy with our decision. To those on the fence I’d say any vote not for Trump is a vote for Clinton and her evil, corrupt, crony capitalism/socialism. For those in SoCal a great source is http://www.nancyspicks.com/index.php her recommendations are based on good traditional conservative Christian values. Very helpful especially in local elections and wondering the viewpoints of the people running for school board, water boards, etc.

  9. Sword40 says:

Our state has “mail-in” ballots. So I’ve already voted. I had to hold my nose on a few candidates BUT I’ll never again vote democratic.

  10. Huber says:

I’m in a left coast state where mail ballots are the default – in order to help the dead, non-citizen residents and illegal aliens vote.

We also had 7 presidential candidates to choose from on our mail-in ballot – 2 of the 7 were socialist worker party and socialism and liberation party. Men were in the minority as 4 of the presidential candidates were women.

    God help us…

  11. Ages says:

I do not vote early; on November 8 I shall appear at the polls as soon as they open and vote for Trump, with only a little hesitation. He’s not perfect, but he’s by far the best option who has ballot access to 270 electoral votes, which is my minimum threshold for considering third party candidates.

No presidential candidate in my memory has spoken as clearly and boldly against the horror of abortion as Trunmp has, and while I am not a single-issue voter, getting abortion right is a necessity. It was not a hard decision.

Honestly, anyone who believes anything this individual says, I have 1,000 acres of Florida swampland to sell.

    Fr. Jim,

You said, “Honestly, anyone who believes anything this individual says, I have 1,000 acres of Florida swampland to sell.” after saying “I voted three weeks ago. A straight ticket because try as I did I could not find one single ‘r’ worthy of my vote. ”

At least we can believe something Hillary says: she WILL be sure more babies are murdered in their mothers’ wombs. Abortion: one of the few sins which actually cries out to heaven for vengeance. And yet you found it ok, as you said you voted straight ticket “D”, to put in a vote for her. Simply amazing. I can understand not voting for Trump for many reasons, or voting with a clothespin on the nose for him. I cannot understand a Catholic, let alone one who stands in for Christ at the Altar, voting for someone who will promote the destruction of innocent life in the womb.

Hope those school board members appreciated your votes too. Ultimate life and death issues there.

    How very sad.
Mother of priests, pray for us!

  14. Dan says:

I have will not vote early, but when I do it will be against HRC and anyone else who would uphold the horrors of abortion.

Because I usually vote the R line I will also make sure I vote for Trump. I get nervous when I hear people who usually vote republican saying they plan to write in and not vote for either candidate. In my mind if that is the choice you make you have essentially voted for Hillary.

Now, if you usually vote the D line, a write in is an option for you. So please consider that, but a vote for Trump would be more beneficial in ensuring that all life is given the best possible chance at success.

  15. Dan says:

frjim4321, how much are you asking for that 1000 acres of swamp land? I am interested.
The investment worked out very well for Walt Disney.

  17. CrimsonCatholic says:

Since Clinton and the Democrats want to do away with the Hyde Amendment, which prevent taxpayer money going towards abortions (Medicaid), how can a Catholic vote for a Democrat?

  18. pelerin says:

I still fail to understand the Trump voters who say they will vote for him because he is anti-abortion. There is a video online which shows him stating in an interview that yes he hates abortion but he is pro-choice. And when asked ‘So you would not ban it or partial birth abortion’ he replied ‘No’.

You thus have a choice between two candidates who are both pro-choice.

[I fail to understand those who don’t seem to get difference between the sort of Justices Clinton would appoint to the SCOTUS and, on the other hand, the sort of Justices Trump has indicated that he would appoint. Also, I fail to understand those who don’t get the difference between what one might think or say and, on the other hand, what they actually do. If Trump is – inside his head – pro-choice, but he appoints Justices who will stick to the Constitution and who could defend life… ]

Unfortunately there are some who are so blind they will not see and/or they benefit financially or from the lack of morality from the absolute corruption of the Clintons and the democrat party.
The “Affordable Care Act” that Hillary wants to continue, is another reason not to vote for her.
Not only does she want us all to pay for unlimited abortions through Obamacare, I heard this morning that a family who has a disabled child has just found out that their health insurance is increasing over 60%. I suppose his problem is that he and his wife both work to support their family and pay taxes. He gets no subsidy.
He was expecting maybe an increase of 3o%. Sadly I am sure there are many stories like this all over the country.

There’s no point in trying to enter any kind of rational discussion with a Kool-Aid drinker like Fr Jim. He sold his soul so long ago he’s forgotten he ever had one.

Meanwhile, Lord David Richards, former Chief of the Defence Staff in the UK (from 2010 until 2013) thinks Mr. Trump is preferable even to the corpse of Milliard Fillmore (well, not expressed in those terms, but…): “He said the controversial billionaire was ‘wise enough to get good people round him and probably knows that he’s got to listen to them and therefore I think we should not automatically think it will be less safe’.” And, “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has warned that Hilary Clinton’s plans for a no-fly zones would “lead to world war three”, and Richards is equally unimpressed.

““Unless she’s prepared to do this properly and go to war with Russia, she shouldn’t talk about no-fly zones and nor should we,” the 64-year-old argues, his voice slightly raised.

Voting for Trump on the 8th-with my husband who is also voting Trump. My Baptist cousin, his wife and 3 children ALL voting Trump on the 8th. Sorry to hear people voting for someone who has NO chance of being elected at all-which may throw the election to Hillary.Something i can’t fathom anyone taking a chance on. If you think that’s not possible you only have to consider how the first Clinton got elected.Votes wasted on Ross Perot. I feel very comfortable with this vote because the media has simply LIED through this whole process and made Trump out to be an ogre. Eventually after all the abuse he has taken and the character assassination (not that the man didn’t have flaws)I believe he will be vindicated. Eventually the truth about the Clintons, the DOJ,the FBI and the current President will all come out-the public is going to be shocked at the level of corruption and the depths of evil- IF Trump is elected President. People will then wonder how they could have voted for her or those who chanced her getting elected with a 3rd party(or worse,no vote).I believe this is one time in my life I will not be eating crow. Pray.Much is at stake.

  26. David Collins says:

Judge not that ye be not judged. Someone rather famous is reputed to have said that; thus, I don’t think Frjim deserves the harsh comments he’s received for voting straight-ticket D. Pray for him, as, I am sure, he’s praying for Catholics who vote for Trump.

I am not wasting time on voting. Trump will appoint better justices than Clinton, they say. So? From 2000 to 2006, the Republicans controlled the House, the Senate, and the White House, plus seven of the Supreme Court justices had been appointed by Republican presidents. Did weekly mass goers get anything out of the Republicans then? Was abortion outlawed? Or even legislated against?

As for the silly argument that not voting is a vote for Hillary: there is such a thing as the electoral college. If you live in a blue state, you can cast 100 votes for Trump and Clinton still wins your state’s electoral votes. If, like me, you’re in a red state, you can vote 100 times for Hillary and Trump still gets the electoral votes. Maybe votes count for more in swing states. Maybe. But the polls indicate that Clinton has the straightest electoral path to the White House.

  27. Gratias says:

I voted for Donald J Trump, best vote I ever cast. Want to know why, read his Contract with the American voter:

    Donaldjtrump.com/Contract

Hillary and Bill are crooks. Trump, will repeal the Johnson amendment and choose supreme justices from a list he has made public months ago.

  28. WVC says:

    David Collins,

I think you basically explained the reason many are willing to give Trump a chance. Unlike so many who have come before spouting conservative rhetoric, Trump is not actually a part of the Republican establishment. Most folks look at it this way:
-We know the Democrats say and do horrible things
-We know Republicans say nice things but then do horrible things or at least refuse to stand up to the Democrats who do horrible things
-Trump is neither. (proved by how ardently the Republican elites are still pushing the NeverTrump movement and the Bush family has all but admitted they’re voting for Clinton) Instead of choosing the two things we KNOW will never stop the horrible things, why not try the wild card and see what happens? What’s the worse that could happen?

What helps is that Trump’s rhetoric is so consistently right on so many issues, and in ways folks haven’t heard anyone talking about before. He’s not arguing that we need to repeal or keep the Hyde Amendment – he says he wants to get rid of the Johnson Amendment. No conservative pundit has had the audacity to say something like that for 50 years. He doesn’t say we need to cut tax benefits for working women to have child care or to increase tax benefits for working women who need child care – he wants to extend tax benefits to stay-at-home moms who care for their own children. Again, has ANYONE brought this up before? He’s against globalist trade deals that both D’s and R’s support. He’s against international warmongering which both D’s and R’s support. He wants to enforce immigration laws and restrict legal immigration, which is hurting America’s job market, contra both D’s and R’s. If you played the “one of these things is not like the others” game – Trump is what you’d wind up picking.

Plus, I do think folks advocating for Clinton are downplaying how significant an aberration she is. She truly is off the charts when it comes to a history of personal corruption (a history with lots and lots of supporting evidence). If the 30,000 plus emails from WikiLeaks and the FBI probes into her private email server and the “Clinton Foundation” on top of the Benghazi incident, her numerous instances of flat out lying (including about her own health), her behind the scenes coordination with media contacts to cheat at the debates and review and approve news stories and quotes, and the many shady people she closely associates with aren’t enough to convince people that she is corrupt beyond the pale, then I’m afraid no truth will ever pierce that cloud of willful ignorance.

I can’t say much for frjim except that he posts here of his own free will and knows well ahead of time how most folks on this blog feel. He also never feels it necessary to explain or defend his often absurd statements (e.g. if you vote Trump you must be for “Rape Culture” or you’re voting for nuclear war which will kill more babies than abortion . . .etc.). So I’m having a hard time feeling sorry for him. Do I hope he’ll see the light? Yes. Do I think an exchange in the comments box on a web log will do that? Nope.

I understand folks who don’t want to vote for Trump. I may disagree with them, but I can understand them. I cannot understand people, especially professed Catholics, who not only plan to vote for Clinton but are proud that they’re going to vote for Clinton. At this point, there are so many mountains of evidence to give any reasonable person a view into her personal character and beliefs that to endorse that is simply not compatible with the teachings of the Church.

  29. pelerin says:

We have a saying in England – ‘May the best man win.’ As there does not seem to be a ‘best man’ in this case those of us this side of the pond are both intrigued and worried as to what the outcome will be and what it will mean for the rest of the world.

While it is known that Trump is of German ancestry it has only recently been revealed that Hillary Clinton is of French ancestry and that President Hollande is a very distant relative. So France versus Germany – which is it to be?

  30. Venerator Sti Lot says:

    pelerin,

You’ve got me curious – apparently one of Mr. Trump’s ancestors, the master organ builder, Johann Michael Hartung, built organs for Catholic and Protestant churches: one of his daughters married someone with the surname, Christ (!). Mr. Trump’s mother was a MacLeod from Lewis, an island which had both Jacobite MacLeods and pro-Hanover MacLeods: I’ve not found how many of which were among his ancestors. Scotland and Germany vs. France (and?)?
