  1. Title of my homily: “The point of the Ascension — of the Mass — and of ad orientem — is heaven.” My homily explained these matters, including why I offer two weekly Masses ad orientem and that I would offer one of the Assumption Masses in this fashion.

    The unity humanity had with God that Adam and Eve destroyed by their disobedience has been restored by Jesus Christ. We partake in this restored unity through our baptism and living his life in us.

    EF Sunday after the Ascension. Jesus comes to earth as the Logos, returns with a glorified human nature. Hope which ad not yet been realized is now fully realized. The Ascension is a preview of the resurrection of the dead. Jesus goes to prepare a place for us. It took the power of death away from Satan. The coming of the Holy Spirit hands over the ministry to the apostles. Spend some time this week asking for the Holy Spirit.
