Some views from the journey: blue water and water buffalo

Blue water near Naples. Not so shabby.

And then….

We went to visit an organic mozzarella producer.  The buffaloes get massages from gizmos that look like they belong in car washes and they listen to classical music.

The results are extraordinary.  It is the platonic form of mozzarella.

And with fresh artichokes.

All of this near ancient Paestum where some of the finest temples of the ancient Greek world are preserved.

We stopped at a beautiful church along the Amalfi coast, a Basilica dedicated to La Madonna del Lauro.

Evening, brings Campari and soda in its simplicity….

And a saute of mussels and clams in its simplicity.

I’m feeling a little under the weather.  It feels like bronchitis trying to get its hold.  I would appreciate a prayer, perhaps to La Madonna del Lauro, for some help.

Prayers to the Madonna del Lauro for your restored health on the trip, Father!

Told you you’d all love the food !! :-)

Please can you pray for my friend Delphine — the Holy Spirit is very strong with her, she is young and fiercely healthy BTW, but she is a Protestant, and so can you please ask that a Saint among the dead might at least teach her that the Charismatic Graces are not reserved only into the hands of the living ?

Also can you please pray to God to smack me when needed on my silly head to remember me that even when I might be utterly exhausted and in dire pain, I do not forget to temper my brutal honesty with right kindness ?

I am experiencing bronchitis right now and had to get a Fr. Z-pak! I hope you don’t get it. Every time you travel you get some head cold or other. What can be done. Do you wear a mask when you fly? You probably should, you seem prone.
This particular episode is a bear, it lingers. Gargle! Salt water asap, a few times per day.
The blue water seems just impossible, it’s too lovely, and the buffalo is dignified. That mozzarella looks yum.

Ah, the temple of Hera. I cannot think of many modernist churches that are as beautiful or harmonious as a good classical temple. I am particularly fond of Doric simplicity.
