Prayer request for Card. Cañizares

Apparently Card. Cañizares, Prefect of the CDW, has been hospitalized with thrombophlebitis.  Given that he is in hospitalized in Rome, would you stop now, and in your charity, say a prayer for his swift and complete recovery?

John, it’s an inflammation of a vein due to a blood clot. It can be extremely painful, and of course the clot could lead to other complications.

Found this on a website, it claims to be a Traditional Catholic Prayer
    “Catholic Prayer For The Sick
Omnipotent and eternal God, the everlasting Salvation of those who believe, hear us on behalf of Thy sick servant [Name] for whom we beg the aid of Thy pitying mercy, that, with his bodily health restored, he may give thanks to Thee in Thy church. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

  7. Ukok says:

Lord Jesus Christ, You chose to share our human nature, to redeem all people, and to heal the sick. With this in mind I beg You to look with compassion on Your humble servant Card. Cañizares, support him with Your power, comfort him with Your protection, and give him the strength needed to fight against evil. Since You have given Card. Cañizares, a share in Your own passion, help hm to find hope in suffering for You, Jesus. Amen.

Three Aves being sent up for the Cardinal.

Given that he is in hospitalized in Rome… Since I am a parochial-type (i.e. not a world-traveler) I do not understand this(e.g. Is this due to the time difference, or do Roman hospitals have a bad reputation)comment.

May Our Lady, help of the sick intercede to Our lord in the cardinal’s behalf. Amen.

(Deep Vein Thrombophlebitis (DVT) can be very dangerous because part of the clot can dislodge from the leg vein, travel through the heart to the lung, and cause a pulmonary embolism (PE.) PE can be fatal.)
