I have good news that may actually be of great interest to you. My newborn baby girl was just baptized in the extraordinary form at the oldest Marian shrine in the US – Our Lady of La Leche in St Augustine, FL. It was glorious. Many friends and family were there and were amazed at the rite. One very active Catholic father I know came up to me and expressed how he felt he learned something about his Church. Of course, most of the comments were asking if that was… like.. for real… an exorcism before the “water part”.
If all goes well, I’ll be closing on my first house in less than 3 weeks!
My wife is pregnant with our fourth child! All girls so far.
our parish finally removed the bath /hot tub/ baptismal dunking pool that was constructed for Easter, we had two coverts joining the church and one felt she really needed a bath ;>) thing really looked stupid in the sanctuary of an old Romanesque church jammed in front of the Mary altar where the folk band usually preformed, which was the only good thing about the whole affair
My parish is having a Corpus Cristi Procession next week. And last week, everything came together very nicely for the anniversary mass.

One of my closest friends will be ordained to the Priesthood this coming Saturday. His first Mass will be the Extraordinary Form, and he plans to use it whenever he can.
This Sunday, there will be a procession with the H. Sacrament in the streets of Amsterdam. The bishop will lead it and the FSSP parish will attend. As will a lot of other catholic folk from Amsterdam and surroundings. The KRO, Dutch Catholic Broadcasting Network, will sent some reporters.
And I will be following my Most Holy Lord along the canals!
The Nashville Dominicans have a growing order with 230 sisters, 45 in formation and a large postulant class starting in August. These faithful, fully habited, joyful sisters teach in 34 schools in the USA and have begun to teach in Australia as well. Vocations are thriving with these sisters and they are a real blessing for the Church.
My pregnancy is going fine … we’re into the second trimester with no worries so far.
It rained 1/2 inch yesterday. A gift from heaven. The sugar beets look good. It is always a concern to get them up and growing. The corn is growing like only corn can. It should be sprayed for weeds but we are busy planting dry beans. Time to cut hay. A lot of work to do but we always have to stop and take note of the miracles that God effects this time of the year as the seeds germinate and the country side turns green.
Three new priests were ordained on Saturday for the Diocese of Phoenix: Fr. Robert Bolding, Fr. Thielo Ramirez, and Fr. William Schmid. I attended the first Mass of one of them, Fr. Ramirez, who celebrated the Ordinary Form mostly in Latin wearing beautiful Roman vestments. A schola mostly made up of seminarians chanted the ordinary (together with a large percentage of the congregation), as well as all of the proper chants for Trinity Sunday.
My husband and I were the godparents in a traditional baptism yesterday! :)
I have declared my intention to apply as an aspirant to the Dominican Friars, Province of St. Joseph (eastern U.S.). I’ve just finished another year of graduate school, and have a plan of action to finish my Ph.D. thesis in the next year. And tomorrow is my 27th birthday!
We had a new grandson born Friday evening. The Baptism will be a great event!!

I attended a Tridentine Mass for the first time yesterday, it was only a low Mass but it blew my mind!!, hopefully it will be the first of many.
Sunshine! After what seems like forever of rain, there is sun. And, I’m hanging out by the pool trying to make the dreaded work that must be done seem less dreadful. It’s working!….a little!
So, I know that seems superficial, but that’s where I’m at today. Oh…..and the Battle has already been won! We just have to make it through and do His will for now to ensure the victory with Him later! And, I’m blessed to have many options for the Sunday TLM and if I didn’t have to deal with traffic at rush hour, I could go to a daily TLM most every day of the week! Love Arlington diocese. How’s that for good news?

I’ve found a church where I can attend TLM. I think it is the only one in my part of the country.

Yesterday, 6/7/09,Rochester,MN had its first Solemn High Mass w/ Deacon and Subdeacon AFAIK since “the changes.”
Our Parish First Holy Communions were celebrated yesterday with a TLM: Mozart’s Coronation Mass was sung (St Mary Magdalen Parish, Wandsworth, London, UK). No one, I think, has complained to The Tablet!
Lots of good news from St. Margaret Mary in Oakland, CA, which is an apostolate parish of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Last Friday, we had a visit from our founder,Msgr. Gilles Wach, along with the Vicar General, Msgr. Michael Schmitz. A Solemn High Mass was celebrated followed by benediction (what a bonus!). Msgr. Schmitz announced that they had a meeting with our recently installed Bishop, Salvatore Cordileone, (Diocese of Oakland) and confirmed that there’ll be a Pontifical High Mass on Sept. 20, 2009 at our parish to celebrate the 20 years of TLM. Back then, Bishop John Cummings allowed Fr. Vladimir Kozina to celebrate the TLM (the first indult mass in California). During the reception, we also had a guest priest, Fr.
Donald Morgan. (Upcoming pastor of the Five Wounds Portuguese National Parish in San Jose). Last month, Fr. Jean-Marie Moreau (Episcopal delegate of the EF rite for Oakland) had a high mass at that beautiful parish. If all goes well, Five Wounds might start to offer in the future regular traditional masses (please include this in your prayers!!). Finally, Msgr. Schmitz also announced that this coming July, some members of the Institute will be receiving the Holy Order of the Priesthood from the hands of the Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, Archbishop Raymond Burke.

It seems I will be going out East in July to spend a week with some Sisters, discerning whether I am called to their community. Only by the grace of God (and a bit of financial assistance!)
The weather is good and my health has improved.
Twenty-one members of the Oratory of Saints Gregory and Augustine Oratory in St. Louis were confirmed on Thursday, June 4, by Bishop Hermann. This was in the EF! Bishop Hermann did a wonderful job and had words of wisdom for all of us. Six of our little ones will be making their First Holy Communion in the extraordinary form on this Sunday–how appropriate–and we will be having a Eucharistic Procession and Benediction.
In addition, my niece is in the hospital trying to carry her second child to term–a difficult pregnancy, and so far, things are going well.
Finally, Archbishop Carlson will be installed this week! For all these things, Deo Gratias!
Archbishop Dolan celebrated the 200th anniversary of Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Lower Manhattan on Sunday to large crowds.
There was also a parade through Chinatown & Little Italy encompassing the Ancient Order of Hibernians, various Italian-American groups (including the San Genaro float playing Danny Boy), Hispanics and Chinese/Vietnamese student groups. Truly a New York moment and a great day for the Archdiocese.
Here in Tasmania we had our monthly traditional Latin Mass, and then two extra bonus events:
a traditional Baptism, followed by Vespers and Benediction; and a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Colebrook, with Missa Cantata for the first time in that country church for seventy years.
We bought and installed a new awning for our camping trailer and are looking forward to “getting away from it all”.
My first “baby” turned 26 years old over the weekend!
A difficult situation at work that raised its ugly head today was resolved by some incredible spontaneous teamwork by some of my coworkers…(as well as a Hail Mary).
Thank you Dear God for my good job, my nice house, good health, plenty to eat and many other life’s abundances and answered prayers. Day by day help me increase my gratitude and my faith.

My daughter graduated from high school. A year ago it was questionable whether she was ever going to graduate, let alone with her class.

We were able to attend a priest’s first Holy Mass yesterday at our Parish. He’ll be a great one, however he was ordained for our neighboring diocese. (This is the second “first Mass” this year at our parish.) Next year, we anticipate two more ordinations. Next week we’ll be having an outdoor procession for Corpus Christi. On a related note – there will be a procession from our Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Detroit – supposed to take about an hour.
Our nine-year old son has begun serving Mass in the extraordinary form. It was his own idea to serve in the EF even though it means getting up very early on Sunday and even though he previously had only been to Mass twice in the EF. (We had often attended the ordinary form in Latin, however.) We are fortunate to have an outstanding young priest at our parish who initiated a Sunday Mass using the John XXIII missal earlier this year, as well as an excellent and supportive pastor.

Two men were ordained to the (transitional) diaconate by Archbishop Miller in late May!
Yesterday, the TLM was celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church in the Diocese of St. Augustine, FL. The church was packed. Mass is now scheduled every 1st and 3rd Sunday, but we are hopeful that this will soon grow to a weekly event. Thanks to God, Bishop Galeone, and Pastor Dan Cody.

Bishop Aymond ordained five new priests for the Diocese of Austin last Saturday, and six transitional deacons two weeks ago. And in September, twelve men will be newly entering the Seminary for a total of 47 seminarians.
I had the great fortune to be able to attend the ordination of a friend in Superior, Wisc., yesterday. There were two priests and two transitional deacons ordained at the Mass in this small in population, large in area, highly rural diocese in northwest Wisconsin.
Many priests in Superior diocese serve three or four parishes.
This afternoon, my friend celebrated his first Mass, a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form, in South St. Paul, Minn. 150-200 attended this late Monday afternoon Mass.
A young priest, two deacons and a dozen or so altar BOYS assisted at this Mass.
My 1962 missal was quite useful.
good news, how about great news… if the meeting goes well on Wednesday, I will be entering seminary this fall…..
Our parish bulletin (a super liberal parish) had a notice that said if people wanted a Deacon to bring them The Eucharist when they were sick instead of a EMOHC, just call the office and make arrangements. I was speechless and then let out a mighty war whoop.
The guy I share an adoration hour with decided to enter the seminary! Who-hoo!
My kids are all home on summer break and no major injuries!
And finally, I had a nice peaceful weekend at a shrine. I feel recharged and ready for spiritual battle!
My youngest son, Damien, will receive the Blessed Sacrament for the first time at the morning Mass on Corpus Christi Sunday.
I finally decided (no, more like I was told to) return to a place near a university and a parish with a good liturgical and doctrinal ethos, after having fled from there to a suburban wasteland for financial reasons. Now I may not have much money, but I’ll have recourse to a lovely old Polish parish with Latin and incense and a platoon of altar boys, and to biweekly meetings of the Chesterton Society. Deo gratias!
I found out at my appointment today that my due date with our 6th (plus 2 in Heaven) is CHRISTMAS DAY!! So far everything is going great and the babies heartbeat sounded perfect. We are very excited! =)

Rita and Francisco, who had been told by several doctors not to expect to ever become pregnant are expecting a baby.

I love to hear all of this good news. It’s so encouraging! Let’s see, I made 10 quarts of strawberry jam (yum) and today we are being considered by a birth mother for an adoption. Please pray! This would be our 9th child. It would also be our first domestic adoption. We are excited about the idea of having a newborn in the house again!

Good News! My husband and I celebrate our first ten months of marriage today!
I just graduated from Seton Home Study School on Saturday and got my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday. Now I’ll have plenty of time to study Louis de Montfort’s “True Devotion” before going to Texas A&M this fall!
The prior of the Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem, Fr. Oppenheimer, said mass at my parish church last Sunday. He announced during the homily that he and some of the members of his order would be offering Sunday masses at our church throughout the month of July. I attend San Secondo d’Asti church in Guasti, California.
Fr. Oppenheimer says mass wonderfully, in an extremely reverent and dignified manner, and in fact seems to have trained our altar boys, who were already pretty good, to do things even better. He also delivered a very erudite and enlightening sermon, in which he cited the Church Fathers and preached that the purpose of the Catholic faith is not to feed the poor but to save souls — feeding the poor is an effect of our charity, not its end — and that we need to fight concupiscence and the temptations of our degraded culture in order to live lives of holiness. Phew! That’s giving it to us straight!
I look forward to their July visits and will be praying that it might result in some new vocations from our parish.
