That last one’s a charmer. I love your sense of inner city humor.
When I lived in the city, there was a barber shop near me called “We Be Cuttin’ Hair and Stuff.”
I remember reading that years ago, the Archbishop’s house, a beautiful mansion had been sold off and belonged to a Detroit Pistons player. I grew up in a suburb of Detroit and only visited the seminary once for a retreat. Detroit and its suburbs are like a bunch of smaller planets still arrayed around a dead star.
When I was in the Motor City for a visit last June I drove past Sacred Heart Seminary, and was surprised and delighted that the famous “black Jesus” statue was still there on the corner. As I recall, during the racial disturbances in 1967, someone painted the face and hands of the all white statue black. Someone soon re-painted them white. The rector had the black face and hands restored, and evidently it has remained so ever since. It always seemed like a nice gesture promoting racial harmony.
Here’s a link to a photo of it.

Hope you enjoyed Detroit!
If you lived in Detroit you would be unemployed so you wouldnt be paying taxes.
I didn’t see your comment about getting your taxes done until after I looked at the image, so I thought you were referring to May’s Hair Salon. I really think you could pull off some weave, Father.
Is it true that rush hour traffic is worse in the morning going OUT of Detroit than it is going in?
May’s Hair Salon does taxes?
