From the amusing Eye of the Tiber comes this:
Medford, OR––Speaking at a Women’s Rights group at the home of fellow parishioner Florence Hensley of Medford, Oregon this week, 58-year-old Roger Shannahan complained that the group was being sexist for unjustly excluding men from the group’s hopes of a female priesthood. “I mean, you could see in the early Church numbers of male figures that held positions of authority,” Shannahan told the group. “St. Paul was a man, for instance. He had authority, right? So, if St. Paul was a man and had authority, why wouldn’t I be able to have it?” Hensley, who hosts the weekly Women’s Rights group, told Eye of the Tiber after the meeting that men cannot be considered, not because men are unequal, only because it is not in a man’s nature to become a female priest. But Shannahan believes otherwise, telling Eye of the Tiber that the group has always overlooked men simply because of the group’s own insecurities. “I’m sick and tired of sitting on the sidelines. I too have a voice.”
Saw this in a blogpost from another reader, can’t help but to find it appropriate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFBOQzSk14c
That’s a good one, maybe someone should troll them for real!
Then again, is the CofE can have a man become a woman and then a woman priest, it wouldn’t surprise me if they acknowledged it with open arms, breaking down barriers, inclusiveness, that sort of rigmaroll…
Wow! These gals are right outside my home town. I was expecting them to be wearing Advent pink as the local clergy at Shepherd of the Valley are doing…
Advent pink would clash with the gay pride rainbows on their stoles.
If they only knew how ridiculous they look. I feel embarrassed for them.
While they’re at it, can they allow men to bear children, too? This is another injustice that simply ought not to stand any longer.
BTW: I wonder what their stance is on Consecrated Virgins being that it’s a vocation far more exclusive than the priesthood.
@Cathy:
As many times as I’ve seen that Python clip, it is hilarious every time. It struck me while watching this that it is the perfect allegory for the current homosexualist movement to insist that homosexuals should be able to “marry. ”
To slightly tweak the dialogue:
-I know — even though you *can’t* marry [by definition], we’ll fight for the “right” to be able to marry.
— What’s the point? There is no such thing as homosexual marriage. You wouldn’t be able to marry even if you had the “right.”
– It is SYMBOLIC. Symbolic of the end of the “oppression” of the heterosexual culture.
It is a sign of our very rapidly deteriorating culture that, as absurd at the pro-homosexual “marriage” argument is, people don’t see it as a silly spoof, but are taking their claims quite seriously!
Perhaps the real question is: why can’t men and women tell God what we want to be (or become) and He changes us? The real injustice is that God doesn’t let us choose our sex initially… such injustice…

James, I just clicked on your link and found a few of them in my area. I used to work with the consort of an alleged woman priest and was unable to figure out if she was on this list; they may not share a last name.
Thanks for providing my laugh of the day, sorely needed and so good for the soul. Such good comments and great photos of the female pretenders all decked out in their rainbow-striped stoles and robes. Reminds me of some photos I’ve seen of an unnamed (by me–the photo did give the name and location) contemplative convent where the nuns now where choir robes and no head coverings. Saints preserve us!
Sorry for the typo–it’s very early in the morning–I meant to write: “where the nuns now wear choir robes and no head coverings.”
I read their “Statement on Apostolic Succession,” and immediately thought of John Clease’s last line in the clip referenced above. I paraphrase: “symbolic of struggle against reality.”

Some of them wymmin’ forgot to take the bar codes off o’ them bathrobes.
I hate to explain a joke, but in case you missed it, my link to the womynpriests website includes three men in their list. Sometimes reality is just as bizarre as satire.
A quick search on that page (the womynpryst page) for the ‘partner’ reveals that six of them (5 women and 1 man) are also sodomites. Ah… now it makes more sense.

Ah, but you see, they are discriminating against him! They refused to ordain him as womandeacon and womanpriest, instead only allowing him to be ordained deacon and priest.
