The religion of pieces strikes again.
We must pray and do penance. This will not be the last such act.

Yeah ….. what a surprise.
Militant Islam on the march all over the world, literally. Churches desecrated or destroyed, people beheaded, more crucifixions today than probably at any time since the days of the Roman Empire. And not a word of outrage or condemnation from any “peaceful” follower of Mohammed, anywhere.
This is beyond our ability to manage, fix, contain. The only thing that will work at this point is Divine Intervention. Prayer and fasting and a return to humility, not just from “the choir” that gathers here, but from everyone. Not to outdo Fr. Z’s call for going to confession, but at this point, those confessionals need to have lines going out the churches and into the streets. There needs to be continuous Adoration wherever possible. Because if we don’t do those things, this will all be happening here and very, very soon.
If you think I’m kidding or exaggerating, just look at what’s going on in Dearborn, MI where representatives from the local Muslim community are demanding the local laws be replaced by Sharia and that there be restrictions on speech and freedom of religion. It’s not gotten to the point where Sharia has taken over, but there are too many complacent people who think it can never happen. That’s the danger – when good men do nothing.
It is now being reported that ISIS is beheading Christian children. Pope Francis should follow the lead of Pope Urban II and call for a new crusade. And this time we need to finish the job.
Father, did this kind of thing happen as virulently throughout the twentieth century and just not et reported at all, or is it now just they are becoming more daring and flagrant?

I remember a few years ago there was a young Muslim who had walked into a French church and did the same thing, climbed atop the table altar and defecated right there on the middle of it. It’s the not the first time and it will not be the last.
