Done.
Great idea thank you Father.
Amen, Father Z. Your point is well taken, I was watching the reports of the shootings in Dallas with tears. Will say an extra rosary now before bed! Blessings on your for remembering our men in uniform foreign and domestic at mass.
My parent’s and my pastor growing up always did this. Might I also suggest spiritual support for their family members.
The Fathers of Mercy have Adoration and confession every Friday during this Year of Mercy. I’m going today unless we have another thunderstorm and flood (which we have had way too many of this month). If we have a thunderstorm, I will say the rosary at home. I am shocked and grieved down to my soul.
I live in a suburb of Dallas. This is surreal. And the college where one of the shooters was cornered is only two or three blocks from Dealey Plaza.
I am not much for her title “Queen of Peace” as the word “peace” sadly has come to mean to far too many “at any price”. So I will ask the intercession of Our Lady of Victory for my countrymen.
AvantiBev, I think this prayer, indulgenced in 1846 by Bl. Pius IX, may provide helpful perspective on intercession to Our Lady Queen of Peace:
Hail, thou that art most venerable, Queen of Peace, most holy Mother of God; through the Sacred Heart of Jesus, thy Son, the Prince of Peace, procure for us the cessation of His anger, that so He may reign over us in peace. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who sought thy prayers was forsaken by God. Inspired with this confidence, I come unto thee. Despise not my petitions, O Mother of the Incarnate Word; but in thy loving-kindness hear and answer me, O merciful, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Whether we care to hear it or not, we bring bloody calamity on ourselves by failing to proclaim the Gospel. Men need more urgently than ever to hear that salvation comes from, and only from, union with our Eucharistic Lord in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Every time we suppress or truncate or distort that message, we endanger lives and souls and anger Him Who paid the price of His life to redeem us and unite us to Him. Every time we proclaim and live His message, His whole message, we bring the world closer to His peace, the only true peace there is.
