I’m currently reading this book. Some nice insights by the Cardinal. I was also happy to listen to the Cardinal himself presenting the book in my hometown a couple of months ago. It was published in my native language on the same day as the original Spanish!
The original Spanish?
Yes, the original language of the book is Spanish. Up on the cover you can see that the interviewer is fr. Carlos Granados, and in the preface he writes that the whole interview was done in Spanish, which Cardinal Mueller “speaks perfectly…which he learnt during his travels to Peru”.
Is this the presentation that the local archbishop would not allow at the university where? it was originally scheduled?
Yes, in Madrid. I was in another city (and country) and was glad to see my cardinal-archbishop presenting the book along Card. Muller.
What (tangible) impact did the Ratzinger Report have?
I received The Muller Report in the mail yesterday. Very little makes it comparable to The Ratzinger Report. It is basically an extended reflection on the virtue of hope from different angles, i.e., What can we hope for from Christ?, …from the Church?, …from the family?, etc. IMHO, it was titled the way it was to sell books. It is still a good read, though, reminding me much of the some of the more theological parts of Cardinal Sarah’s God or Nothing. Good Lenten reading.
