Pope Francis announces a 2022 synod on synodality
Vatican City, Mar 7, 2020 / 05:00 am (CNA).- The next ordinary Synod of Bishops will be a synod on synodality, the Vatican announced March 7.
In October 2022, bishops from around the world will meet in Rome to discuss the theme: “For a synodal Church: communion, participation and mission.”
The concept of “synodality” has been a topic of frequent discussion by Pope Francis, particularly during the previous ordinary Synod of Bishops on young people, the faith, and vocational discernment in October 2018.
Synodality, as defined by the International Theological Commission in 2018, is “the action of the Spirit in the communion of the Body of Christ and in the missionary journey of the People of God.”
The term is generally understood to represent a [rigged] process of discernment, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, involving bishops, priests, religious, and lay Catholics, each according to the gifts and charisms of their vocation.
Pope Francis told the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s theological commission in November that synodality will be key for the Church in the future. [God help us all!]

From the Greek, sun and hodos (way), apparently. [No. It isn’t.] On the other hand, the word *syndrome* translates rather neatly as “running together”.
Hahaha…that’s hilarious, clearly these men have no idea what’s coming. Earthquakes, violence, tornados, floods, invasions, increase in crime and madness, now plagues, but they still don’t get it.
Just to put a fine point on it, see Religion News Service, for the story about how Rolls Royce is openly promoting a private Mass with the pope, where you will get “special blessings just for you”, and an hour with him, and for only $155,000! That money will be “hand delivered to the pope”, but ironically, the pope may be “caught by surprise”, because, and you may find this incredible (as in, impossible), he doesn’t know about it! Haha, yeah, if you believe that, please talk to me later about that bridge I’m selling. Isn’t this where Martin Luther came in?
I believe they are missing opportunities here. They need to beef up this into a SuperSynod™, facilitated by das Ubermensch, to ask meaty pastoral questions like:
– Is a parish without a council like a Jesuit without a bicycle?
– If a gnostic falls in the forest, and no one is there, does James Martin still make a noise?
– Pangolins or Parolin: one virus or two?
– Who am I to judge? Vatican Ideology hosted by the hip trio of Sachs, Freire & Re.
So many opportunities, which could sadly become reality.

I volunteer myself to be the new Prefect for the Sacred Congregation of Redundant Tautology Congregation! as well as Vicar for Vicariates, while we’re at it.
I hear the City of Chicago delegates will be present at this synod to present on keeping the balloting safe, fair, and secure.
With all due respect to Fr. Ferguson, those positions cannot be held by just one person. ;-)
A synod on synodality, sounds like something out of Dilbert.
The only thing worse than a meeting, is a meeting about the meeting….
