Fishwrap is openly pro-abortion – ACTION ITEM!

It will not surprise you that Fishwrap (aka National Schismatic Reporter) has come down firmly in the pro-abortion camp.   One of its most important, show-cased writers, the disciple of Sr. Margaret Farley, the open lesbian Jamie Manson.

This could be next to the entry for “scandal” in an Illustrated Dictionary of catholic Insanity.

Jamie picks up where Heidi left off (praising the nutty extremist AOC and calling her the future of Catholics):

AOC embraces reproductive justice, and other Catholics should, too

[…]

The piece aroused the indignation of some Catholics who oppose the right to access abortion care, arguing that, Ocasio-Cortez’s pro-choice position is untenable with the Catholic faith.

What they don’t consider, however, is that Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t view the issue of abortion simply as an issue of reproductive rights. She views it through the more comprehensive lens of reproductive justice.

The rest of this article is a pro-abortion argument.

There is no other way around it.

Fishwrap is openly pro-abortion.

The Bishop of Madison put it exactly right in a curt Tweet:

Try adding this prayer to your daily prayer routine for, say, 8 days.

Pray to St. Joseph, patron of the diocese where the offices of the Fishwrap (aka National Schismatic Reporter) are located! Pray that all the writers and staff of that heterodox and destructive publication either covert to orthodox Catholicism or else that they are driven to closure. Pray also that the bishops of these United States of America develop the courage to strip that publication of the word “Catholic” in their title.

Dest-joseph-patron-of-the-churchar St. Joseph, Terror of Demons and Protector of Holy Church, Chaste Guardian of Our Lord and His Mother, hear our urgent prayer and swiftly intercede with our Savior, whom as a loving father you defended so diligently, that He will pour abundant graces upon the staff of that organ of dissent the National catholic Reporter so that they will either embrace orthodox doctrine concerning faith and morals or that all their efforts will promptly fail and come to their just end. Amen.

The principle of truth in advertising, a decent respect for the opinions of mankind, or perhaps some sense of fair play should impel a name change to National Neocatholic Reporter.

I was interested in finding out how it was that the NcR came about and took the turn it did with regard to Catholicism, The Church and why even today ‘Catholic’ remains as part of its masthead.

This curiosity led me to an article published in 2013 in the Columbia Journalism Review. Titled, “In the name of the father: An editor who soared, then flew away”, the author was Mike Hoyt, the son of the NcR founder and Editor, Robert Hoyt. The article remains available online at: https://archives.cjr.org/second_read/in_the_name_of_the_father.php and is both interesting and revealing reading indeed. Apparently, from the start, there was no question as to the direction the NcR was to take.

Writing of the 1950s and what the name of the publication was to be, the author noted that, “This was an era of great ferment in the church—not to mention the world—and he (Robert Hoyt) and his staff asked Kansas City’s bishop to let them get ambitious and go independent. It was not easy to speak truth to religious institutional power back then, but the bishop consented, and in his enthusiasm, even came up with a name: Veritas, Latin for Truth. My father hated it. A newspaper that offered church-sanctioned perspectives was pretty much the opposite of what he had in mind. Veritas, he told the bishop in a moment of inspiration, means the same thing as Pravda. We can’t have that” (Hoyt, 2013, Para.4).

I wondered about the use of the term “reproductive justice”, replacing “reproductive rights”. From what I have seen from a quick Google search, it seems “justice” (ironic given that the unborn baby is certainly not receiving justice!) widens the spectrum from just simply “pro-choice” to various other left wing hot buttons such as free child care. It appears to have similarity with some of the Marxist and anti-family positions taken by Black Lives Matter.

Let’s do this! I took a screenshot of the prayer so I can easily pray it every day.

There is so much evil run amok in this world right now that it is easy to shrug at this story. But No! This is HORRIBLE!! Catholics are being led astray. The church Christ founded, told to “Go forth and preach the Gospel” – is being misdirected! This is going forth and preaching evil! We have lost a sense of the sacred. We lost belief that God gives life and God will take care of us, even mothers who don’t know how they will care for the baby, God has a plan! Romans 8:28 people.

St. Joseph comes through. I have a tremendous story, but I’m always so long-winded. Pray this prayer! St. Joseph performed miracles for my family.

Also, wearing brown on Wednesday for St Joseph is a Catholic tradition.

    Let’s roll!

Wear the Brown Scapular and you will always be wearing brown on Wednesday ?
