    In other words, the data matches the satire.

    2019 Pew Survey on knowledge of religion – focus article on Catholic belief in Transubstantiation:

    69% of Catholics believe the bread and wine are symbolic.

    2015 Pew Survey on Catholic practice and beliefs:

    43% of Catholics believe abortion is not a sin, are unsure, or didn’t answer.

    I thought Lutherans did NOT believe in a purely symbolic Eucharist. It was a major point of contention between Luther and Zwingli.

    Luther and Zwingli
    Should always be treated singly.
    Luther hated the peasants,
    Zwingli the Real Presence.
