Your Sunday Sermon Notes: 2nd Sunday of Advent – 2022

Too many people today are without good, strong preaching, to the detriment of all. Share the good stuff.

Was there a GOOD point made in the sermon you heard at your Mass of obligation for the 2nd Sunday of Advent – 2022?

Tell about attendance especially for the Traditional Latin Mass.  I hear that it is growing.  Of COURSE.

Any local changes or (hopefully good) news?

I have a few thoughts about the Gospel HERE.

  1. Gregg the Obscure says:

Archbishop had the 1030. right before Mass he blessed a reliquary containing a 1st class relic of Bl. Carlo Acutis. Many young people whom i had never seen before were present.

Archbishop has directed all of the clergy here to preach on set themes for Sunday Masses from November 20 through December 18. The themes are the Holy Eucharist and the virtue of Charity.

Archbishop included admonition of sinners as an example of charity! he gave examples of the Lord doing this. he was quite emphatic on “get behind me Satan”.

  2. gsk says:

Very well-attended High Mass in Waterbury, CT, with a beautiful homily about the Blessed Mother. Father focused on two of her titles: Tower of David and Tower of Ivory, and after outlining them well, he posited that Mary (a veritable watchtower) is actually the first line of defense against heresy. He explained that when you get her wrong, the rest eventually falls apart—particularly the understanding of Christ, and he illustrated it with the Protestant revolt.
