“Aeternae Memoriae
Benedicti XVI Pontificis Maximi
Moderatoris de Sacra Liturgia solliciti qui Non.(o) Iul.(ii) An.(ni) Sal.(vationis) MMVII litteris apostolicis Motu Proprio datis Summorum Pontificum ut debita reverentia erga divinum cultum denuo instauraretur, Sacra Mysteria iuxta antecedentes maiorum usus servanda decrevit, parochus et fideles hoc grati animi monumentum relinquerent.”
To the eternal memory of Benedict 16th, Pontifex Maximus, sollicitus director of the Sacred Liturgy, who, on the Ninth of July in the 2007th year of salvation, by gift of apostolic writ decreed in the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum that owed reverence unto divine worship be restored afresh, by the preservation of the Sacred Mysteries as they were according to the great majority of (our) ancestors; to him the parish and faithful, with grateful hearts, leave this monument.
“Moderator” is an interesting choice. It implies, I think, more authority than a “custos.’
