ROME 25/10 – Day 28: Mass at San Pietro

The Ave Maria Bell should have rung at 18:30.

The ringing of the bell is connected to sundown, which was at 18:16.

The sun went down after rising as 7:32.

It is the Feast of Sts. Crispin and Crispinianus, martyrs in +285.

May day was busy, so I’ll again be a little sloppy.

My view at the Mass in San Pietro today.

Hi Father!

Seminarians parked on the step of what was the Altar of the Chair.

What a tragedy.  I was there when they tore it out.  And the hideous rubbish is back.

At the end of the Mass, the 97 year old Cardinal from Albania, who had been tortured and in labor camps, came up to the ambo and recited the long EXORCISM Prayer of St. Michael.

Father, would you mind giving us a report on the music? All chant? Any polyphony? A good choir? Thanks.

God bless Cardinal Burke who is one of the few to speak up against some of the ‘stuff’ coming from the modernist Vatican. Even many trads are persecuting him and he is no stranger to persecution although it is usually from the other side.

Today I attended a Novus Ordo with some family members and the deacon had a good sermon. He noted, a number of times to get the message across, that God does not change and it is He who set the standard. No, God does not change and neither does the Truth. There is no ‘evolution’ which magically turns sin, even mortal sin, to something God will approve of. I know some in high places want that to happen but sin is still sin and those who wink at it or support or ‘accompany’ it, are complicit with it.

I’m a 39 year old cradle Catholic. Have been to Rome multiple times, and in St Peter’s Basilica multiple times. Only after seeing your post about the altar of St Peter’s chair, and seeing your photo of the… er… chair on cloud carried by bishops and surrounding the dove of the Holy Ghost window, have I just now… worked out what the sculpture actually shows. I thought it was just a weird thing.

    Mea culpa. I’m an idiot.
