Remember back during the faux election cycle that there was a weird “purge” on Twitter? In the space of a few days, I lost thousands of followers for no apparent reason.
Now that Elon Musk (BTW… I posted a video of the SpaceX “Ax-1” reentry today HERE) has taken control of Twitter, there will surely be changes made to the platform.
Twitter has real faults, but I think that, with judicious use (including of the “mute” feature), it can be a very good thing.
The potentially earth-shattering difference this will make is hard to grip.
Out of nowhere, comes a man with the means to actually make our First Amendment rights mean what they say again. One guy. Who saw this coming? Nobody. Heads on the Left must be absolutely exploding. I saw Jimmy Martin moaning like Judas that the money could have been spent on the poor! But I bet he has no problem with spending millions on abortions around the world or the 1000 other idiotic and evil boondoggles the regime wastes our money on, like paying for millions of invaders on our southern border.
What a glorious day!
Kathleen10: Your comment about Jimmy Martin “moaning like Judas that the money could have been spent on the poor” is priceless!
I might even come back to Twitter. I dropped it a few years ago.
I don’t trust Elon. I don’t like his AI agenda, green cars, a gazillion satellites orbiting the globe showering us in waves, etc. Elon is not going to save free speech just as Trump didn’t save us from the global elites.
Musk hasn’t taken control of Twitter yet. The only action taken thus far is that Twitter’s Board has decided to recommend his offer to the shareholders (who could choose to reject it). Further, Musk (and the underwriters of the additional financing) have to do their due diligence examination of the the deal and Twitter’s financial fundamentals to determine whether the investment is worthwhile.
While the deal has been agreed to, it will require regulatory and shareholder approval before it closes. Until it closes, the current board and management structure remain intact.
This could be extremely helpful. Elon Musk is somewhat open to truth it seems… all this Twitter purchase frenzy came right after the Babylon Bee (hilarious Christian satire site) was banned from Twitter, and Musk was furious about that. Musk is a fan of the Bee and was interviewed by them recently. It went very well apparently. It’s a great sign that he is even a fan of the Bee. In our pagan culture, swiftly becoming a leftist totalitarian theocracy, for a celebrity to be open to the idea of anything positive in Christianity, and to be reading a Christian website frequently, is a huge grace.
So I’m looking at the Twitter purchase as a hopeful sign that a Christian website may have just made an enormous difference in the trajectory of civilization. And that Musk may have the openness and the passion for truth needed for conversion to Catholicism. I converted from atheism to Catholicism in middle age, so I know it can happen! Don’t ever give up on people, no matter how far away from God they seem to be – often they’re just a nudge away from the whole truth. :)
Please pray for Elon Musk, who is obviously a huge influence on our society (and for his family, friends, & advisors)… for conversion, salvation, sanctification, prudence, insight, protection, peace, and wisdom.
John Zmirak has a great article discussing this development, what we’ve learned since Trump, and its implications, at the Christian site The Stream, called “Pray for Elon Musk” (https://stream.org/pray-for-elon-musk/). He says, referring to Twitter as the spine of the entire leftist regime, “Musk must realize fully what he is doing: Ripping out the spine of a Frankenstein monster expressly created to terrorize us. Not until that spine lies on the floor, twitching and smoking, will he be able to rest. Let us pray for him fiercely, as our freedom depends on it.”
Oh Antonia, you may well be right. I just read at CTH the Biden regime is creating a “disinformation head” who will be overseeing information ala the Ministry of Truth. That spine is not on the floor yet.
